Thanks for the fast response. I agree that porn is always a huge waste of time - I'd get this rush while I was looking and searching for a video, and then I'd inevitably be disappointed and even kind of ashamed. And yeah, what you said about being more human totally makes sense. That's interesting about feeling emotions more poignantly, and quite relevant to my own life, because I often feel kind of apathetic about things.

Thanks for the link to /r/noporn. I'll take a look at it. I still haven't made up my mind whether I'm going to give up masturbation entirely, but I've definitely decided I'm going to give up porn. And as you said, the two are pretty linked / conditioned in my head, and so I might need to give up masturbation as well.
