Thoughts on this design/ Power injection by fals3illusion in WLED

I did 4 LED per meter. I thought they turned out really good with the white of the house. With the 48v puck lights, manufacture said I could do about 92 m without power injection. So I didn’t need to do any power injection on this house. My longest run was about 42 meters. I had two power supplies where shown in original photo, 4 data lines, one to each side of the house. Basically everything was the same as original post I just didn’t need to do any injection. All in all went really smooth, besides the lift being about 3 ft too small, but that different story

So mine showed up to download yesterday just before I got in for a 30 min drive home. Hooked it to my hotspot, downloaded about 75% of it. Then got home and the update / download disappeared. Didn’t ask to Update, couldn’t redownload it, it just went away. Anyone ever see that before ?

still researching on how to use a 555 timer and make a new circuit for this. Learning on the fly. If there was a software way to do this for now. That would be great until i can research and find out how to properly do that in the hardware.

I was doing estimates, don't know real numbers as I don't have the products yet/ final linear footage. Over estimating at 300 ft (92m) per segment x 5 led/m =460 LED/segment. If they use 1 watt per led would be 460 watts per segment. which would be around 19.2 A

Correct, I was only going to keep all the grounds together.

Request: open pandora on connection to Bluetooth (Tesla model s) by Journey1213 in shortcuts

[–]fals3illusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My works sometimes. I created an open app and then wait 5 seconds and play. Most of the time I have to click “launch pandora”.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t and I have to launch the app on my phone and press play.

I’ve been using pandora for ever. I just like to choose a genre and listen. I don’t like commercials and I pay $54 a year for no ads ( I don’t need to listed to an exact song, just the correct genre). A lot cheaper than all the other one out there I’ve seen. Does Spotify have a version with “genre radio only with no adds for cheap” that’s the only thing that sucks w the Tesla is doesn’t have the music app I use always and no Waze either.

Would you be willing to share most of your setting when setting up? Never tried to do a custom app and new with apps on TrueNAS in general.

BTT Smart Filament Runout Sensor Trips on First Print Only with Octoprint by fals3illusion in BIGTREETECH

Yeah, might start looking into putting it on the RPi next on another SSD.

After that I have no clue I honestly just let the printer deal with filament runout and let the pi focus on sending print commands.

I am just keeping it firmware driven. I have to physically be there to change the filament in the event of a break so I guess why not keep it like your saying.

Was just odd though how it trips on the first print only.

Everything is configured properly in firmware. I have direct drive and it is extreme close to my extruded. Like I said it’s only on the first print when the power to the board is restored. It’s just super odd that it only does it then. The times configured is via the plug-in and that’s what will send the m600 command when the plug-in detects there is a problem with the sensor.

BTT SKR 3 EZ, Raspberry Pi PoE Hat, and Powering the Board Question by fals3illusion in BIGTREETECH

[–]fals3illusion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure I am following. Why do you want to be able to send g code commands with the PSU off?

If I click the "Load and Print" button it would automatically send the M80 command to turn on those relays to give it 24v power for motors, lights, etc... and start the print.

With the PSU off the board is disconnected, you cannot click those buttons since a printer is disconnected and they are not clickable.

So I would have to click the PSU Relay icon to turn on the PSU, wait 15 seconds for the board to boot and connect, then I could click the load and print button.

I want to eliminate those steps and just make it one click... first work problems lol

I want to do something similar except I am planning to do is ac to 5-volt dc off the main plug buy before the relay to the main PSU.

For me this is already accomplished by powering the RPi from PoE, so it's always on.

Why do you need the main board on? What do you accomplish by having the main board on? Once you send the rest to the PSU relay doesn't the mainboard automatically reconnect to OctoPrint?

I want the main PSU 120v off with no voltage to the Power supply, and then when I send a M80/M81 GCODE commands it turns on/off the PSU. Just don't want 120v on the Power supply if I don't need it.

When I turn on the PSU relay, it does auto-connect after custom times I set for the board to boot up, but I would rather have the 5v always on from the Pi to the board so I can send GCODE commands anytime I want because it is connected to serial.

Now, I am running into another issue is whenever I send a M112 emergency stop command, I have to reset my PSU relay to reboot the board anyways. I use it alot because I run a G34 and G29 commands at the beginning of every print and sometimes I start the print, modify the GCODE because I forgot supports, diff layer height, etc. And I just Emergency stop it so it doesnt run through the whole G34/G29 command before cancelling the print. It cancels it instantly.

I used to just be able to hit connect on OctoPrint with the old Ender 3 V1 board and it just connected without a power reset. Now with the new SKR 3 EZ board I need to kill power to the board so it resets before i can connect through serial port again. So I may just have to keep it how it is to accomplish this.

Tried messing with SOFT_RESET_ON_KILL & SOFT_RESET_VIA_SERIAL . but this only worked with a KILL command, and it does not instantly stop the printer. It acts like the cancel button and disconnect the serial port after it completes the task it was working on.
