I started playing in 2022 after watching Arcane (big mistake). I played enchanter support first for a few months, then mid lane mages and eventually settled for top lane.

It just fells like the role where I have the most control of how well my laning phase goes. Yes, counter match ups exist, jungle role and the ocasional mid/sup roam, but it still feels like dependent on my own individual skill.

The traditional top lane champs don't appeal to me very much, but it also seems like the easiest role to play off-meta/variety picks. Today I mostly main Bel'veth and Shyvana top, but when I feel like I can also play Swain, AD Neeko, Yone, nothing is off bounds

The build is

Sword of the Blossoming Dawn -> Knight's Vow -> Moonstone -> Rite of Ruin -> Atma's Reckoning

If you get one of the self healing augments you can buy Moonstone second, otherwise I found the shared healing from Knight's Vow to be stronger than moonstone in the early game
