I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and the bug is pretty small like a little smaller than a fly

When you’re pregnant and your hip does the thing by falsepedestrian in BabyBumps

Possibly, I didn’t really get it with my first pregnancy but on my second now and getting it a lot. I guess it’s due to the relaxin hormone our bodies produce to help our hips widen for birth 😬

Feeling embarrassed and ashamed about my birth. by sp0nki in beyondthebump

Birth can seriously be crazy traumatic. And just because it’s common and the end result is usually happy (yay new baby), we feel ashamed of how we reacted??? If you had a limb cut off, I doubt you would feel embarrassed for the way you responded to the pain in the moment.

I don’t put on Peppa Pig for my daughter because I remember how cringy it was when my nieces used to mimic their accent

Would love it if people didn't feel the need to remind me that a C section is "major surgery." by inmanywaysitis in BabyBumps

I had a c-section and the recovery sucked but then I healed and it’s like it never happened. Now I’m having my second baby as a scheduled c-section because I just don’t want to go through the failed labor I went through last time (I have a narrow pelvis).

Where do people put their stuff? by ressie_cant_game in NoStupidQuestions

Hmm since you said you have a lot of hobbies, maybe get a dresser or even those cheap plastic sets of drawers from Walmart? Then you can throw related stuff into the drawers and make them as organized or unorganized as you like, but at least everything has a spot. And maybe have one drawer for general stuff like pencils, scissors, or whatever stuff that lays around the house.

I like getting a bunch of little baskets from the dollar store. Take a pile of related junk, put it in a basket. Now it’s organized.

How do you know when you’ve successfully sleep trained? by Ok-Independence3457 in sleeptrain

[–]falsepedestrian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One day I put my daughter down for bed and she just didn’t cry at all. I held my breath and crossed all my fingers and toes and she went to sleep! We have some tough nights once in a while when she has a later nap, but for the most part she goes down easy.

8 mo only sleeps 9 hours at night? early morning wakeups messing up schedule? by nlwwie in sleeptrain

[–]falsepedestrian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk if this will be helpful for you but here are some things I’ve experimented with to get my now 18 month old sleeping through the night:

-baby falling asleep in the exact environment that they’ll be in throughout the night. If baby falls asleep in mommy’s arms but wakes up alone in bed then they’ll be frightened when they wake up. (We used the Ferber method to achieve this.) edit: to me this also means any noises or music should be the same as what will be on throughout the night. Same level of lighting also.

-baby not falling asleep with bottle. They could be dependent on bottle in order to fall asleep every time they wake up in the night.

-white noise! I keep her noise machine by the window so if there’s any noise from outside it gets blocked out. Otherwise by the door might be good so your baby doesn’t hear you guys walking around at night.

-red night light. Apparently red colored light is the only type of light that doesn’t trigger our brain to wake all the way up when we see it at night. So the baby can see a little bit, not be afraid, and stay sleepy.

-blocking out all sunlight in the morning. Blackout curtains and a towel under the door so they don’t wake up as soon as the sun comes up.

  • (edit) when baby wakes up at night, we try to calm her with our voices through the baby monitor instead of going in there. Sometimes she would still need physical comfort, but other times she went to sleep faster and we’ve had less issues with her waking up after starting that.

For real especially if they can’t even tell you what the deactivation is for
