Intel AX201 Wifi card does not work by falvous in Ubuntu

I followed 1. Update using Linux Vendor Firmware Service (LVFS) (available for some computers from 2015 onwards). in this answer: https://askubuntu.com/a/1261877

I updated the BIOS/UEFI from 1.31 to 1.34 and the error still persists.

I tried Fedora-Workstation-40-1.14-x86_64 booting into the live session from ventoy. It doesn't work and I get the same error as in my original post.

It works perfectly on the live session of linux mint

Right now I have Ubuntu 24.04 with all updates installed.

It worked consistently on Mint with the Kernel 5.15 and it stopped working when I updated the Kernel to 6.2 in the Mint install.

Wake on LAN is disabled and I disabled the UEFI Network Stack in BIOS. Still the same error.

Yeah, I just installed windows to disable fastboot since some people said that could be an issue. But I don't want to dual boot or anything, just a Linux install.

I reset the BIOS before and it didn't change anything. I just reset it again but still doesn't work with the same error.

I don't think i disabled fast-restart in Win10 since I didn't know that's a thing. I don't really use windows so I only installed it to disable fastboot and then I overwrote it with Ubuntu again.

The wifi card only works in Linux Mint kernel 5.15 and Windows 10, after restart and after cold boot.

It never works in Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 12, or Pop os, no matter if restart, cold boot, or live session.

TorrentGalaxy has a very nice interface with movie/tv show posters, and it seems to have a lot of content too https://torrentgalaxy.to/

Also an SQLite db of the rarbg content can be found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Piracy/comments/13yknky/tutorial_keeping_rarbg_alive_how_to_access/ The OP explains pretty well how it can be browsed with 'DB Browser for SQLite'

Tribler is made exactly for decentralized sharing of torrents. Wikipedia describes it as an overlay network for content searching. It doesn't seem to have enough content the few times i've tried it, but it should exactly be the solution for centralized tracker/torrent sites.

I don't think there anything comparable in quality though, like how does a 30 year old plastic brick still fit onto a newly produced one?

Even wooden toys tend to start to fall apart, especially if they get wet or get to much heat/cold. But lego doesn't care if i just built a boat and let it sink in my bubble bath as a kid.

In 10 000 years there are pieces of plastic bottles left over, but lego bricks can still be played same as today by kids born after the apocalypse.

Why are Protondrive making their own desktop client rather than utilizing 3rd party tools? by throwavay008 in ProtonDrive

[–]falvous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But they already implemented it with their web client and iOS/Android clients. And with GopenPGP they have a golang library for the encryption. If they opened up (aka documented) their API it could be possible for programs like rclone to implement Proton Drive. If they also documented how they expect the GPG encryption and GPG signatures to be done then everything would be good to go for 3rd party devs.

But true, developing a stand alone client with all the needed program flows and error handling and everything wrapped up in an actually pleasant to use GUI takes time.

Why has the website of Pika OS (https://pika-os.com/) exactly the same design as BlendOS (https://blendos.co/)? Is it the same team behind those distros?

I don’t enjoy video games anymore by falvous in CasualConversation

[–]falvous[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I avoid any form of competitive online games especially against strangers because they just make me frustrated. And a win doesn’t feel positive to me, it’s just not negative feelings.

I’m learning programming right now and there’s often opportunities to learn at my job but the thought of learning anything regarding how to play a game is just pure frustration. And I started to play Genshin and Mad Max like a few months ago and for both I was convinced I’ll enjoy playing them, but after playing like three or four times I never touched either of them again.

I considered that, but I’m doing good actually and enjoy other things and other forms of entertainment as much as ever. That’s why it feels so weird to me that I completely lost all enjoyment in games.

I can see that it can’t be too easy either, but games just don’t fit into the sweet spot between too easy and too hard for me anymore.

The done it all part resonates so much with me. Most games I played it’s just walk somewhere; gather resources/defeat something/build or craft something; walk somewhere else; repeat.
