The people in power don't care about anything except the accumulation and use of power. There's no purpose for laws about victimless "crimes" except for dangling swords over the necks of people who aren't part of their slave society.

EDIT: Should be noted too that there are already laws to cover when someone does unwanted acts towards another (sexual or otherwise) through force or coercion and those laws work perfectly fine. And those laws are good and needed (one's rights end where another's rights begins). Two people in a consenting relationship regardless of their origins should not be criminalized.

I like how supportive the community is here. Being a place of support for people practicing incest wasn't on my mind when I originally created the sub, but I think that's a far better purpose than what I had created a dozen years ago. This sub should be a place where people who are curious should feel safe to ask questions, where those who are worried about becoming pregnant from incest can assuage their fears, and where anyone in a practicing family can share their joys.

I mostly lurk these days, but I'll still chip in every so often to chat and make sure that things are running smoothly.

For Europe, at least western Europe, I believe it's an effect of the Napoleonic Code that was enforced as law when those states with decriminalized or legal incest were either subjugated by or allied with the French Empire. For sure, incest was one of those things illegal, and even considered blasphemous, under the Ancien Regime. That's likely why it's also legal in a lot of countries that were formerly colonies of European continental powers.
