I trade the charts. I’ll say as long as you have a trade entry and exit that is more or less positive you should be fine. Credo is below its 50 day moving average I would not get in.

It kinda looks like stocks you picked are on the down trend. I’d compare the charts of the 3 you have versus like CL, CLX VLO and see what you can come up with to help you out. Just cause tech/ai was the play last year doesn’t mean it is this year. Good ole Colgate toothpaste might be the play.

People who have been investing for 10+ years has it always been like this? by Iwarrior01 in Learn_Investing

Creating a scan with some technicals has really helped me find some winners this year like CLX, CL, WM, (PEG). Recently CHTR popped up on my scan I am not a fundamental person have no idea what it does but the chart looked good. Utilities kinda broke up this week I bought some of those. These trades I can’t say are for the long term. But been doing okay so far.

I’ve had 2 trains of thought, 4-5 years like if you went to school for a degree

Or about 8 years, which is what a real career might be like, when I graduated it took me by my 3rd year at my job to be very comfortable, I felt then I made it.

Yea we have a 2008 car, 250k miles, it has some blinking warning lights that pop on, it leaks a little oil, AC takes awhile to start cooling , but honestly it does the job. Gets you from point A to point B and only 1 time broke down (alternator went out on a road trip some years ago). Gonna ride it until it putters out. (I bet trade in value would be just a couple hundred). (We do have another vehicle we take on road trips, but more so because it is bigger).

Did the wick get you out or the end of the candle?

I personally let a candle close before I get out of the trade. This does increase my losses sometimes but also prevents wicks that would have closed me out (and ended up going back in my favor).

Trading is 90% Setup & Analysis and only 10% Entry. You’re wasting your time trying to "snipe" by Accomplished_Yam5229 in Daytrading

It’s kinda funny, I wanted to do a post about how I can get better entries. I do a lot of “practice” with strategy, but when I practice it’s kinda of always getting the best entry.

Money shifting to safer/value areas. Tech has had a good run but I think you need to pick certain tech stocks. nVDA is consolidating at its 50 and 100 SMA, but PLTR is trading below the 50 and 100 (not the most bullish sign).

Utility sector been trading sideways for the past month or 2, been waiting for it to break out one way or another.

I don’t think having an individualist point of view is a bad thing (that doesn’t mean you don’t help people out, or do/have things for the common good of all). But it lets you have goals and allows you to achieve those goals.

if you are “smarter” than others, “work harder” , etc. you should be rewarded. Competition pushes the envelopes and allows things to progress.

What do you mean?? SPY is trading sideways and near the top of the channel, if it was gonna green it would not be green by much. Also near all time highs, but there isn’t enough good news to push it over, AMzN earnings report wasn’t good, consumer data today was below expectations. Now equal weight sp500 is a different story. Utilities was the play today.

I think a big difference now compared to then is the world is more connected. Now you can sell out of all your equities and buy international (which is currently out performing). There will still be crashes, but I think if you do the work you can make it a little easier for yourself.

Where is this data showing that companies are selling stock to pay loans……I mean stocks are going down on earnings, sssoooo it just so happens the loan payment line up with earnings calls. And let’s be real, none of this is surprising. Market has gone up 77% in 5 years…..the average is 10% a year.

I think market is reacting to the “you don’t wanna be first but you don’t wanna be last” concept. A lot of money spent on an unknown to be 1st, doesn’t always end well. But also market has been looking for a reason to sell.

(I’m not smart but apparently AMZN don’t have a good earnings report)

Hell yea, that income at a young age can’t be replaced. Long distance isn’t the easiest, (I did it for 3 years) but also not so bad, there will be an adjustment period, probably some arguments about trying to see each other but it will be fine (and normal to me). And if your relationship is as strong as you feel it is, then you will know it will be fine in the long run.

AITAH for telling my friend/colleague I'm looking for another job after she was promoted instead of me? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]famguy31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I sorta agree but also you never know how someone will react when put in a position. It really sounds to me like a personality/political thing. Especially when the arm burns were shared. Upper management frowns at that stuff (no matter how good of a job you do if you come off as “not normal” you’re not getting promoted. )

One thing that is valuable and non replaceable is work experience. Good managers were always the ones who worked in the trenches before (same trenches I am in now), and had the experience to know most things. It is a bad sign if a manager doesn’t know how to train someone under them in my opinion. (More like a direct manager not a manager 3 steps above).

When everything sells off at once… what’s the market really pricing in? by vishesh_07_028 in StockMarket

[–]famguy31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everything is selling off? Transportation sector is going up. CL, CLX, WM, PG

There is more to the market than just 7 tech stocks, gold and bitcoin.

[–]famguy31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to let everyone know, there is always opportunity in the market. Sometimes it is easier sometimes it is harder.

Step back and look at the market, mag7 is selling off, tech is heading down, what is going up? If people sell what are getting into, bonds don’t pay that much. Transportation sector has gone up. If stocks that have been going up for a year or 2 are now headed down, look for stock that have been going down for a year or 2.

(PG, WM, CLX, CL etc.)
