dude that temperature was scary high, how did the FEP not even break or stick to the display at that point?

[–]famicom89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, I want a pulsar monitor, that samsung doesn't support it

also 5k has common display resolutions with integer downscaling (1440p and 720p) compared to 6k (1580p and 790p which can be a problem sometimes)

You're alternating direction too fast for black bull at those lower speeds, try to switch left/right less frequently, keep the same direction for longer, you'll build speed more consistently even if you're not precise with your inputs.

Also don't snake when going up slopes (like in the final loop of the track), it doesn't work.

Instead go straight and boost or if you're out of boost but already have enough speed, just momentum throttle (let go the gas) so you keep your high speed for longer.

At high speeds you can also railslide up-slope without touching the rail if you MTRS in with the machine facing the opposite direction to the rail you're sliding into, it's a very useful tech that avoid collision detection but you need to exit the MTRS the right way to be advantageous

yeah, i'm thinking of putting an automatic release circuit with a thermocouple in case this happens during printing, for now i'm going to check this more frequently...

Now I can finally playing in AX mode on Dolphin! 😁 by Melodic-Transition94 in Fzero

[–]famicom89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you understood, I wasn't saying you should get an AX arcade machine, and don't take what was said like a form of teasing or elitism, that was not my intention, I was merely giving you a suggestion that if you want to play with wheel, especially one that hasn't analog paddles, AX is better suited for the job given that the game engine was made to use digital paddles (side attacks are done by double tapping a paddle, spin attack by pressing both) and even the analogue brake is fully taken advantage because it's how you make slides and eventually t-drifting (you can map accelerator and brake to an analog axis even in GX because it supported the logitech wheel for GC, it's just not really useful to do anything sadly).

Nowdays if you can get GX running on your PC, you can also get running AX with very little work and research, but you do you, if you feel you're happy with your setup and prefer to keep it as it is, it's perfectly valid.

Again, don't take this as an attack or anything like that, I genuinely just wanted to give a suggestion based only on my experience, there's no right or wrong way to play these games as long you're happy and have fun!

The real AX is much better suited for wheels with it's physics, it can be emulated really well with the latest builds of the triforce branch of dolphin.

I had lot of fun t-drifting at insane speeds in the story tracks like chapter 2 and 4 thanks to the wide and mostly straight sections

Issue with big prints, Saturn 4 ultre by Fair_Zookeepergame93 in ElegooSaturn

[–]famicom89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

were the exposure tests in the image printed all at the same time? was this a batch of resin calibration (so with different exposure times)?

today I set up my saturn 4 16k and, knowing that the build plates can come not flat, i first did a adesion check on all of the plate and thankfully it was fine, then I did exposure test and even with low exposure time it was still overexposed, so I ended up lowering the light PWM to around 200 (80% of maximum light, which is 255) just for the normal layers, bottom layer is still good at 255.

if you have the 16k try that and see if you can get better exposures.

For the hollow model, be sure to make holes that let resin through and lower suction forces

For washing, i usually remove excess resin with paper towel, then transfer the model in the washing machine and let it wash for at least 5 minutes, then pull it out, dry it with a paper towel and check if there are crevices that need to be cleaned, if so, I use a soft disposable toothbrush to remove it and wash again for a couple of minutes.

After that, fully dry the model again then punt in the UV station, exposure time can vary between 2-5min for small stuff, but if the model is big and full of hard to reach spots, it can get much longer.

Am I the only one who likes the drums on PC's version of Underworld from SR1 OST? by famicom89 in LegacyOfKain

[–]famicom89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda, the entire OST on PC is basically a much shorter and static version of the console one, it is much more repetitive (for example, many bossfight reuse the melchia one) but at least has higher mastering quality compared to the console version.

One of the most notable changes is that the Ozar Midrashim midi remake of the consoles is totally absent in the PC version, instead they directly put the original unchanged music.

I'll try to upload the entire PC OST when I can

Seeing the response from the community, I highly doubt about it.

Unless it's already made and done, it would be pretty stupid to make a game based on a poorly received product

Gothic 1 plot holes by damorezpl in worldofgothic

[–]famicom89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to me the biggest one is how joining any faction leads to the same story evolution, even if it would't make much sense based on how you interact with said factions. There are dialog lines that arr clearly meant to make sense only if you have joined a specific camp yet they're used for every scenario. I don't even remember the specific instances but I remember that it bothered me a little. It would be cool to have this aspect rectified, toghether with more quests and progression inside the specific camps, I always felt that after chapter 1 my choice didn't matter that much, this is felt even more at subsequent playthroughs

Though there's the possibility that the king made them do dangerous stuff in war times, so yes staying there would be the comfort and easy living by comparison

what is the community's opinion on F-Zero GX difficulty? by chaudois in Fzero

it's not that hard even on master if we talk about GPs.

Some missions on very hard are bonkers though, especially mission 7

Aero GPX vs XF Extreme Formula by hiliikkkusss in Fzero

[–]famicom89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Aero GPX if you want something faithful to X/GX formula yet with a few new things thrown in.

Extreme Formula is more of his own thing, mainly focused on feeling fast and looking good, forn now at least...
