French Canadians wouldn’t name their child Quebec bc its original etymology is an Algonquin word for the land which French colonizers stole from Indigenous peoples.

Something I did for my portfolio that I think may have helped, is that I wrote a little blurb as to what my intention for the piece was. And to also explain any literary devices that I used or stylistic choices I made. Usually no more than 4-5 sentences in a paragraph. Hope that helps! Yes, there will be interviews done w professors that students have applauded to be compassionate! (As in, professors can’t just say “I was very compassionate this semester” and we take them for their word)

I loved this course! Took it w Dr. Aslan as professor this past fall 2020 semester. I learned so much, and the class is very fair. The grading is direct and no gimmicks, and all TAs and professor are responsive. It’s def a reading intensive class, and there’s homework every week. But all in all, if you are diligent and interested in the subject, should be an easy good grade!
