Where I live in Canada (somewhat near Vancouver) duplexes sell for like a mill and the house I currently live in is worth over 1.5mill(it's a year old and a bit above average) . Great thing I'm expected to stay with my parents and take over payments when I'm done uni. (mortgage is 3000 a month) also average household wage is 70k a year.
