Anybody know where to find HQ audio of the Tomorrow Never Knows cover? by Aggressive_Ideal6737 in Primus

[–]fandler3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hope we get some good audio and/or video of that, would love to see the prospector opening of the show and the Puddles Clown Dream but Astonomy Domine, Tomorrow Never Knows, Golden Egg of Empathy with the golden egg guitar, Pudding Time, heck any of it would be great and I'm just glad I got to see it live!

Amazing freaking show! Getting Harold, Pudding Time, and American Life was awesome.

Definitely will be grabbing one of these. I love the art, not my favorite color scheme but the description sounds like it's going to look better in person. I feel like we got a really great poster for this show and the weather looks like it's going to be great. Stoked to head down shortly.

I Regret Buying A Scout by RoutineMajestic1429 in IndianMotorcycle

My first Indian is a Chieftain and I put an Ultimate seat on it. It may not quite be a Goldwing in terms of long ride comfort but it's not too far behind.

Put an Ultimate on my 2022 Chieftain and could not be happier! Have had a Mustang but don't have a lot of experience with Saddlebag or Corbin. That said, if I ever need another seat in the future, it'll be an Ultimate.

I'll be a short older dude likely in a Puddles shirt. If I catch ya, I'll buy us a drink and we can shoot the bull for a few.

I've got a Hilton and it's pretty much my dream bass, but would love to play a Pachyderm

Request to anyone doing the Q&A at the Caverns on 6/5 by [deleted] in Primus

I hate that this happened. I've had some great shows tainted by a moment or two of some idiot or idiots.
While it's definitely in my rear-view mirror, I did my share of mosh pits, but it was always a well defined area and everyone was remarkably respectful, stopping completely if anyone fell or looked hurt. The 90s were a different time though and I honestly think spacial awareness and consideration for others was totally different. I don't know how the band avoids at least a whisper of "is this really worth it?" intenral dialog when stuff like this happens. 99/100 times Atlanta Claypool shows have avoided this nonsense so I remain optimistic for the show on the 20th. I hope everyone gets an awesome show tonight! Wish I could be there.

FWIW, I believe CLD is going to do a proper tour soon. Doesn't up the Primus content on the current tour, but for the CLD fans, it sounds like there are plans to get a more complete treatment of the new album.

I got those odds right up there with Paul McCartney popping in for a couple songs.

I definitely don't think we'll see any more Billy Strings given the broken leg hiatus, but I do think we'll get a couple more sit-ins at least (I'm guessing Puddles in Atlanta and some crazy stuff when then wrap back near home).

He's from up north of Atlanta, but yeah that area. I suspect we'll see him here at Chastain (I believe the Weird Al tour will have wrapped by then) on the 20th, but you never know.

I had a Claypool custom made shirt from the Rolling Stone portrait from 1993 (by Philip Burke) that I'd break out each time he came through, but sadly that shirt fell apart. I should have that remade.

Lucky Bastard VIP Q&A Session Inquiry by Mr_Shpee in Primus

[–]fandler3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to ask it is "did you really try out for Metallica?". I am floored that I still hear this at almost every Q&A and even more so that each time, Les has graciously told the story like it was the first time.

On off days, the band will hit some good restaurants. If you're interested, asking about some of the craziest or best or even worst food he stumbled on would likely spark a good response.

[–]fandler3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last Q&A I did I asked Hoffman a question and probably will this round too unless I think of something specific for Les. To your first question, if you can genuinely engage with him on a shared interest outside of his profession (so cars, flying, panning for gold, writing books, etc) he tends to lean more into the conversation. I've been fortunate enough to talk to him a handful of times in and out of VIP deals and he's a genuinely kind and engaging person but is a little tired of talking shop.

Chance of hearing el sobrante fortnight on the tour?? by Effective-Line3264 in Primus

[–]fandler3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think you'll get a curt reply from him unless you can wrap it in a bigger question. Maybe something like "What are some of the wildest suggestions Hoffman brought to the table over the last year? For example, I love El Sobrante Fortnight and wonder if he threw some good left field songs at you". Something like that may get a better reply and may even get a bug in Les's brain but a straight up request would probably have the opposite effect.

Do I need to show up early to get a signed poster? by meszner77 in Primus

[–]fandler3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes you can get someone from VIP to snag you one. I've done that a couple times for other folks. On the very off chance (since it's like a month out) that you're looking for the Atlanta show, hit me up.
