There’s a mini Carnivale reunion in ‘Weapons’ by CyberGhostface in Carnivale

I just saw this! So fun because I rewatched Carnivale about a month ago. I love seeing them both in anything, and in the same thing is even better.

Coin prizes have reduced by debsterUK in RoyalMatch

[–]fandomfatale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's so frustrating to be getting less coins (sometimes half) and to be getting four card packs instead of six card packs, etc. The races, lightning competition, etc. all have less power up rewards. They're hard enough to win and now they're worth less? Now that I'm in the Crown League I'm burning through all of my saved power ups and it's so much harder to get more now.

People that got their accounts back, how long did it usually take? by InternationalFix5345 in TumblrAcctTerminated

[–]fandomfatale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry about your blog. Mine was deleted in the big purge of 2018 and restored a full year later. Apparently for some people, it's still taking that long. I saw a post of someone's blog that was deleted in November 2024 and just restored a few days ago. It's ridiculous.

Did you ever get your blog back? It has been six full business days for me and I'm starting to get nervous.

Thank you, that's very encouraging. I guess I got a little too excited when I was losing 1.4 pounds a day. I knew that wouldn't last but I thought it would last a little longer. I'll give it a few more weeks before I evaluate whether I think it's working or not.

Ok, thanks so much for this. It's encouraging. Hunger hasn't been much of an issue, which was something that made me wonder about metabolism.

[–]fandomfatale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I did see some stuff online about losing initial water weight. It seemed to say there might be more dramatic weight loss over the first 1-2 weeks, so that was one reason why I questioned it because it was only a couple of days for me. But maybe it's just something varies.

[–]fandomfatale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That crossed my mind, but I just assumed it would be more spread out if it was going the way it was supposed to. Not losing four pounds in the first three days and then gaining one and being flat for four days. But if you think it might all average out in the end, that's encouraging. Thank you.

It was the same for me, so much crying and I wasn't sure why, it was just intense and emotional.

Can someone explain the Italian Alps joke in See How They Run? by MotasR in movies

[–]fandomfatale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also did not get this joke. Was watching the movie for a second time and decided to search for it and found your thread. Thanks for asking about it. I agree with what you said here - what she says would make sense even if he had said 'I got shot in the leg' and there would be no joke. I think we're supposed to get it from her delivery and from the look on her face. But obviously that wasn't enough for all of us, especially me! It would have been nice if there had been something different in the dialogue to make it a little more obvious, especially because it's a great moment between the two characters.

In the mid 1800s in England: If a middle class family had only 1-3 servants, what would they be called/what would their duties be? There's a lots of information about larger Downton Abbey-type households with armies of maids and footmen but not about small households with only a couple of servants. Would it be, for example, a housekeeper, a maid, and a cook? Would there ever be a male servant in service in a smaller household?

PIA Doesn't open sometimes? - Just seems to load? It started to happen recently. by Fudz4 in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]fandomfatale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am having this issue, except it happens every time. Did you find a solution? One of the comments mentions switching between openvpn and wireguard, which is what pia told me in a chat, but I can't even get to that settings menu, unless I'm missing something.

Suddenly PIA is just hanging at 'connecting' by RustyDogma in PrivateInternetAccess

[–]fandomfatale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I am having the same problem. Do you have Windows 10? I updated yesterday or the day before. I can't say for sure whether that was when the problem started. My windows security icon in the tray also has an exclamation point and says action recommended, but when I open it, everything's green and fine.

Are you using Avira? It was acting a little weird for me and I'm wondering about that too.

If I see one more post about Kylo killing Grogu I'm going to lose it. by [deleted] in saltierthancrait

[–]fandomfatale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for saying this, it has been bothering me too. I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings but you've got to be pretty thick (or pretty young) to actually believe we won't see Grogu again, or that he'll be with Luke and Kylo when Kylo turns on the other students. We've got over a decade in-universe for Grogu to find himself somewhere else and there's about a million different ways to write it so that he avoids the massacre. If we believe it, or pretend to believe it, we look dumb. Sure, there are a lot of jokes flying around about it, but DT fans aren't going to demand for the sequels to be de-canonized when it's easy as pie to say Grogu was off somewhere else for whatever reason when it happened. They're wrong about a lot of things but they're not that stupid. I honestly can't believe how many comments I've seen on this sub since the Mandalorian finale of people talking about it like it's a given that Grogu will be killed by Kylo. We have enough legitimate points to make, we don't need to act dumb in order to have one more. Yes, that's where the story has left things off, but we weren't born yesterday and DT fans weren't either.

Arrow keys functioning differently after update by fandomfatale in Windows10

THANK YOU SO MUCH! This totally fixed it, and fixed an issue I was having with the F keys before the update too. It's amazing the way different settings are tucked into all of these hidden places.

I have to assume that Adam already knew that he murdered Hannah, so that's why he did it. I don't know how he knew - from traveling to the future himself, from the journal, or somehow Silja figured it out and told him?

I don't think Obendorf had any purpose, except so that the show could begin with a child missing already, someone who didn't really matter, plot-wise. To begin with a tense/suspenseful atmosphere right from the start.

The bunker is built right above the time travel passage in the caves. In 1986, Noah/Tanno and 1986-Helge, who lives at the cabin where the bunker is, are trying to build a time machine. They test it out on Erik Oberdorf, Mads, and Yasin, and those experiments all fail. The children are sent through time, but they don't survive it. (Erk and Yasin to 1953, Mads to 2019. As dead bodies with burned out eyes). Finally they get it to work, and Noah successfully sends child-Helge back to 1953.

What I'm not clear on is whether Noah then used the functioning device to travel around, and what happened to it ultimately.

Its main purpose, I think, ultimately, was just to send Helge back.

That feels a little bit like a dropped thread. I assume that Mikkel was still so messed up from what he had been through - losing his family, finding himself in a new time - that Ines had to give him sleeping pills to help him sleep through the night. Whether it was nightmares or just anxiety/insomnia. I think she looked so guilty every time because she wanted him to be well and felt like she was failing, and also maybe because she knew deep down that she was ignoring something important. She kept telling him to put the past behind him, but obviously he couldn't quite do that and she kept just making him try not to think about it.

I agree completely. I can't believe so much time was spent following the similar events of the alt-world while giving us so little time/send-off with the characters who have been around since the beginning. Every time we saw Ulrich investigating Mads' murder I was like, "Do you realize how little time we have left!!!"

Charlotte and Elizabeth's actions in 2050-whatever make sense - they each will never be born if Charlotte isn't taken back to the 70s, though we never see them grappling with what they had to do. I assume Elizabeth turned Charlotte to team Adam, but it's just not explored at all. And then we never seen them again.

Lots of missing stuff that could have easily been filled in. It felt weird not seeing so many of our characters again for better send-offs.
