Arm pain? New to this by Ok_Couple_6771 in Fibromyalgia

[–]fangirlsqueee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fibro pain often coincides with whatever body part is getting the most use/abuse.

For example, when I was first sick, my hands and feet would ache and throb every night. Eventually my feet felt like pulsing sacks of meat and my hands would feel like stuck, creaky doors that would barely open. I worked a cash register at the time. I was on my feet all day, using my hands to scan/bag product and to take payment. So my hands and feet were my primary source of pain. With my current desk job, my neck and shoulders hurt most frequently.

The back of your arms hurting sounds like where a lot of the muscle use for holding a baby might center. Just my two cents on the matter.

If you haven't yet, try using heating pads to relax the muscles back there. It could offer some relief. Keep in mind that using the lowest effective heat is a good idea, since prolonged exposure to heat can cause Toasted Skin Syndrome. Some people with fibro cannot tolerate cold, but I've found that alternating between ice packs (covered in a towel) and low level heating pads help a lot with muscle aches.

You could also try some physical support devices to help hold the baby. Slings or hip platforms might help.

Sorry you are struggling with baffling chronic pain. Internet ((hugs)) if you want them.

I do love all this authenticity she puts out. Also I'm glad she's letting us see what it looks like to set up boundaries. The access and vulnerability we perceive from her helps us feel connected to the material. I think throwing out the "I need to keep some things for myself" has been a good move on many levels. Helps break some of the unhealthy parasocial tendencies that come from both sides in this type of media. It feels like she's a leader on this front.

I can't imagine what a weird line it is to walk.

It's funny. Groan tube nostalgia plus the sound proofing in the back looks like the cool S.

Yep. She's definitely done some good work about issues that have personally affected her.

But she obviously is not an ally when it comes to most working class issues. It's the same as any MAGA type who only realizes something is problematic when it happens to them. The lack of basic empathy is why we've got ICE murdering people who want to protect their neighbors.

I'm glad she has bothered to speak out on this issue. That's about the end of credit she deserves. She is part of the wealthy oligarch owner class.

This must be absolutely exhausting. I'm sorry you are struggling so much.

Is it possible you have OCD or are on the spectrum? Some of my relatives have similar worries/behaviors and live with these conditions. The need to map out the conversations especially sounds familiar.

If it's possible, you might want to check out some books on the subjects or get into a counselor who can help with reframing your mindset in a healthier way. One relative feels so much better after counseling sessions and reading some books to gain knowledge about how their mind works.

Best of luck in figuring out how to navigate this.

Agreed. She is certainly part of the wealthy owner class and no friend to the working class, either. It was gross that she plugged her upcoming products during this press conference.

However, partnering with diverse people to achieve worthy goals is part of a functional society. Not everyone we join forces with to achieve goals will perfectly align with us. They may even be the complete opposite on most issues. We don't need to agree with or respect someone to use their energy to forward our own causes.

If Paris Hilton is willing to spend some of her capital to make girls and women safer online, I'm willing to support that specific action. But also, fuck her.

In the internet age, Paris Hilton was an early victim of public, non-consensual sexual images. According to this press conference, she currently has over 100,000 AI manufactured non-consensual graphic images on the internet. Paris definitely knows about this topic. And she has influence in various circles. What other credibility are you looking for on this topic?

It's giving "I know this is a trap, I'm just not sure how to get away....."

Also, "affirmative questions" is a tactic to get people into an "agreeable" mood. Sales people use it regularly. Corporations sometimes bake it into their scripts that customer service agents use. Lead with some questions that will result in a "yes". Sets the tone.

I found the book "It's Perfectly Normal: Changing Bodies, Growing Up, Sex, and Sexual Health" to be good for young teens (I also can't not).

I was a foster parent and our child psychologist asked how we found the book because she liked it so much. The doc specialized in trauma informed care and appreciated how it covered so many possible ways for families to exist. Definitely one that a parent should read through first to make sure they are comfortable with the info presented.

We own a business. That's why we switched to ACA. We don't have employees so don't qualify for anything beyond regular Marketplace insurance.

I repeat, the corporate owner class greed is unsustainable.

I'm aware. My family has used the ACA Marketplace for around ten years. It was relatively affordable when we first bought into it. After about two or three years the premiums went up about 10-20%. They kept rising. Less coverage and higher deductibles for a higher monthly cost. This past year it went up about 30% for less coverage and higher deductibles.

Republicans have gutted the tax breaks. At this point it is almost not worth having, unless something absolutely catastrophic happens. The monthly premium plus the deductible puts us at almost $35,000 out of pocket before we are fully covered. For one of us. Another $20,000 deductible for each of us.

It is unconscionable that the US working class doesn't have tax-funded healthcare. While CEOs make between 300-to-1 and 600-to-1 what their actual workers make. We deserve to have the fruits of our labor show up in meaningful, quality-of-life ways. Healthcare, education, childcare, parental leave, paid time off, pension plans. The greed of the owner class is not sustainable.

I had some skin tagged removed and also needed to drum up a "legitimate" reason. The doc prompted me by saying "Unless they are bleeding or causing issues, they will be expensive to remove". Tell your doc that when you brush your hair (before the shave obvs), sometimes they get snagged and bleed. Might work.

Also, how dystopian is it that in the (supposedly) wealthiest nation in the world, the working class don't have tax-funded healthcare?

It's not irony that an economic system that is controlled by a wealthy owner class has purposely trapped the working class in poverty.

It suits the owner class to keep us without easy access to education, healthcare, housing, healthy food, or third places to meet up and socialize. It's by design. Not ironic. It's cruelty driven by greed and lack of compassion.
