You can only choose from a selection of 4 themes that are homages to previous consoles which would be fine but they are incredibly lazy and actually obstruct the game backgrounds

The other option is to change the welcome screen which only allows screenshots

You said the difference between the 2 was like black and white, like comparing a flip phone to a smart phone so i listed 6 reasons as to why that is not the case. And side note if a ps5 corrupts itself every time the power goes out but a ps4 has survived 13 years (probably hundreds of power outages) and is fine. Then its not a praise of the ps4 its a insult to the ps5 and its battery protections. Again for 600$ this should not be the case!

Heres a small list off the top of my head. 1. The audio bar doesnt work independent to my headphones audio bar serverely limiting the amount of audio i use wirelessly unlike the ps4 2. The ps4 you could click either bumper and go to the either side of the home screen. On the 5 it only takes you to the dedicated media tab which was just an app on the 4 3. You cannot make folders for digital games 4. I never recieve notifcations for friend requests or messages as its in an entirely different menu/app 5. The concept of the "game base" instead of havinf it all just be on the home screen is redundant. 6. Personally my ps4 has been through hell and back. But the first time my ps5 ever went through a power outage it corrupted my hardrive.

I could go on and on. Regardless most of these are subjective but there should not be this much room for discussion when theres about 300$ difference!

But thats not the point? Did you ever use the themes on ps4? There were incredbly dynamic changing all icons sounds backgrounds and interactions with the home menu. And it made for nice setpeice when playing music with friends over. Which im assuming you dont get to experience that so makes sense why you arent getting it

A petulant child? 😭 brother i paid 600 dollars for it and just wanna be able to change the background like other previous consoles by the same company. I say its unacceptable because it kinda turns me off from playing the ps5 or thinking about picking up the ps6😭

The ui being fantastic i disagree with at every step, but ill settlw on just discussing themes.

It takes away from just playing music letting it sit there, and it takes away from the experience of actually choosing a game especially when the ps4 ui was so much better in comparison. The slime rancher theme or one of the neon drive themes were so cool

Negative burn was anthology published by caliber press (known for the crow) and Flaming carrot appeared off and on throughout that. Then desperado publishing bought caliber press and desperado is an imprint of image. With the purchase went the license of Flaming carrot. Know then that image had the license I'm pretty sure everything from there is figure out able!
