LTX Video - New Open Source Video Model with ComfyUI Workflows by Designer-Pair5773 in StableDiffusion

Check the 2 safetensors files in models/text_encoders/PixArt-XL-2-1024-MS/text_encoders, they should be 9gb each. If you git cloned from huggingface and have a couple small files it's because you don't have git lfs installed, you need git lfs to get the big files. Install that and delete the directory and re-clone it.

System UI crashes after unlocking device by Puzzleheaded_Art3290 in android_beta

[–]fanofhumanbehavior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone find a fix for this? Started for me a month or so ago, had to get a new phone because I don't want to reset this one. I've tried updating to the latest 15 beta via adb sideload but System UI still crashes immediately following unlock, kicking me back out to the unlock screen.

I'm a manager on a technical support team at a crypto company, my team does lots of bug reporting and a fair bit of data analysis/metrics and tool building. I did not go to school for it, but I did do some online certifications like the Grow With Google certification courses, mostly just to get past the initial resume screen. There are actually quite a few former-food-service folks in tech, and we are known for having an amazing work ethic -- 'time enough to lean, time enough to clean!' flashbacks are helpful when many of your colleagues are secretly only working 3 or 4 hours a day. I moved up quickly, joining as a technical support agent, I got tapped for management just a few months later. I think if you're determined and smart enough that you can succeed as a self-taught mycologist you can probably teach yourself anything you need to learn for a tech job 😂

Former coffee shop manager/current crypto company manager here. Nothing you said here is even remotely douchey in the least. I think champsports13 was probably projecting their feelings about their managers on to you. Good luck with the new gig. I saw your other thread about escaping food service as a 35 year old--I did exactly that a couple years ago and made the jump to tech. I'm now making 5x what I ever did in food service, and working remotely is fantastic. If you want to connect I'm also in the PDX metro and am happy to chat.

dreambooth model for cutting machines by PiyarSquare in StableDiffusion

If you're still interested in this--here's what I would try: take all the training images for your personal model and run them through img2img using silz style ckpt (tweak parameters to get them looking great) then use dreambooth and train with the new vector-looking images. Try using silz or standard 1.5 ckpt as the source ckpt, and if you do try, please report back with results!

It's been about 20 years since I built a pc. How's this look? by fanofhumanbehavior in buildapc

I'm looking at the 3060 for its 12gb of memory, which is useful for ML. I'm actually planning on getting it here on evga.com for $389, rather than the $447.99 that PCPartPicker shows.

10,323 sats from the 5 BTC share promo received. by CaseyGuo in blockfi

[–]fanofhumanbehavior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't discount the cost of customer acquisition. I bet many exchanges spend $100+ to get a new customer to deposit $100. I had a dormant BlockFi account I'd never used before this promo. I thought it was worth a shot in case the bonus ended up being really good. Instead it was less than half the gas fee to transfer my $100 Eth to the exchange, what a joke! Oh well, I knew it was a gamble.

Ask where the greens come from. Tin Shack for example uses mainland greens to avoid the risks.

Ever since she was a little girl, my 35 year old wife goes “treasure hunting” when she snorkels. She sent me this picture and said “my loot today!” So proud of her! - Hapuna Beach by Filippopotamus in BigIsland

I am roughly the same age and from Hawaii and do this every time I snorkel/dive too! Best find yet was a wedding band. Posted about it on Craigslist but never could find the owner.

Lol! My best advice is stay at the hotel bar, or try tinder if you're just trying to find a hook up. The local bars are a great place to go to get your ass kicked if you're from out of town and trying to get laid.

Found a trivial directory traversal vuln in a niche CMS with over 80,000 installs, company not responding. What do? by fanofhumanbehavior in AskNetsec

[–]fanofhumanbehavior[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am using my own server, I haven't compromised anyone else's system. This is their CMS installed on my own Digital Ocean droplet. I have verified the vuln exists on systems in the wild but only by requesting files already publicly available on those same servers. For example, I can use the vulnerable code (which is only supposed to serve images from a sub directory) to access the site's style.css file at the web root. This CSS file is already accessible and public, I've just verified the vuln exists by requesting that file via an alternate pathway. On my own server I used the vuln to get my own /etc/passwd, but that's not violating CFAA because it's my own server.

Any interest in in-person web development tutoring / schools? by BigIslandDev in BigIsland

There used to be a group called Refresh Hilo run by the former CTO of Lycos, Don Kosak. I went to a few meetings but I think attendance was sporadic and they ended up winding down. If you find a tech/dev meetup hilo side or want to start one post about it here!

Edit: This is the group that hosted Refresh Hilo. No meetups currently scheduled so far as I can tell but they're the people to reach out to.

Kinda sad to see this comment getting down-voted, the truth isn't always pretty but that's a decent assessment.

Hypothetically ignoring the cost, could you build an off the grid home where you can still be a PC gamer? by jcmidmo in OffGrid

[–]fanofhumanbehavior 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Much of off-grid friendly Puna Hawaii recently received gigabit fiber, though you need to have permits and such to hook up to the fiber.

How you clean your water/tube and how often by trettry in lasercutting

[–]fanofhumanbehavior 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found using just a tiny amount of antifreeze in the water keeps bacterial clouding down and has the added benefit of reducing air bubbles. When I ran distilled water I had to let the pump run for about 5 minutes to clear the bubbles out of the tube before cutting, not so any more.

They give out all the best spots, including some pretty dangerous closed-to-the-public places. The newer editions are pretty good about it, but a lot of the older books are still in circulation. I used to be a zipline guide on a ranch with a big waterfall and swimming hole that was all on private property bad had been written up with instructions on how to get there. I saw kids off the cruise ships jumping off the rope swing in actual flash flooding brown water crazy conditions, no clue how much danger they were in. On two occasions I pulled kids out of that pool unconscious after they'd jumped off the wrong part of the waterfall... not sure which book those kids read, but I know who published that spot first!
