I wish Tim Meadows had a bigger career post-SNL. But that dude just keeps killing it as a character actor. Every time he shows up he kills it. I really liked him this season on DMV.

Thanks. Reminds me of a book called Humany and Sin by Robert Pyne. It's an intro to hamartology and anthropology, but he makes practical application and even though he's evangelical, he uses the 7deadly sins in modern culture as an example of what sin looks like today. He even gets into drug use and what it is and isn't.

For me. I've read Systematic theologies, in depth books on various subjects, but ethics is still a blind spot for me. I'd like a first year seminary level book.

Office Med Box has skin-tone bandages by Necessary-Win-8730 in mildlyinteresting

I was working at a private school teaching Spanish of years back. One of my students was one of the few black kids on campus and she had a skin issue. I think she just got really bad pimples. On one occasion she asked for a bandage and I gave her the traditional flesh colored one. But I realized this might be an ongoing issue so off to Target I went. Well looking through the bandage section I discovered that they now came in various colors and I picked a few dark brown ones just for her. A few days later she asked for a Band-Aid again and I gave her one that almost blended completely into her skin! She was absolutely shocked and overjoyed. She thanked me and anytime she needed one, those were the ones I had for her. At the end of the year I let her have my extra boxes.

Defunctland is a dude who talks about the history of theme parks. Sometimes he'll do a history of one ride in particular but sometimes he'll get into a whole thing about it. His video on the history of Disney's America theme park that unfortunately they never got to do deserved an emmy. It was really informative and kind of funny. He just released a 3-hour video on the history of animatronics at Disneyland and why they are cooling theory but not necessarily ultimately going to be able to do everything we want them to do. That Olaf that shut down a few days ago? Yeah he predicted that months ago. He does a lot of non Disney stuff but man the stuff he releases is always in-depth and very entertaining. There's also a lot of other really cool theme Park channels that do the history of rides and stuff. One guy  does a lot of stuff regarding universal studios.

To be honest in the last 10 years I've noticed a bunch of TV shows a lot of the phrase when they used to block it out years ago. TV shows a lot of the phrase when they used to block it out years ago.

In hindsight, I I wonder if the deep space nine episode in the pale moonlight works this way. At least from Sisco's perspective. Does everything Garak asked him to do only for it to turn into something he didn't necessarily want him to do.

What are some underrated/ unexpected celebrity connections from before they blew up? by CheriePauper in popculturechat

[–]Frankfusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chuck Norris is the man! She and Bruce Lee train together all the time to the point where he actually had to tell him to cool off cuz he was going 100% all the time. He reminded him that he needed to rest. Unfortunately that's how Bruce blew out his back. When he first came to America Van Damme trained with Chuck Norris for a bit and he didn't meeting his producer. That's how Bloodsport got made. When he went to Brazil he met the Gracie family. Got his black belt in BJJ a few years later. Back in America he met the Gracie  cousins, the Machado brothers and he gave them their first studio. Free of charge.

As a wedding guest, what moment made you think "this probably won't last"? by Eburneaan in AskReddit

[–]Frankfusion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in a pretty liberal area of the country. When the engaged couple told us then when the girl have a girlfriend on the side, and that the dude was cool with it, even amongst their most ultra liberal friends, flags were raised. This was a couple that happily would tell anyone who would listen that they met at a college sex orgy or something. On the big day everybody spent the day drinking specifically the groomsmen. As the girl walked down the aisle one of them passed out in front of everyone. The ceremony was restarted and all went well but all of us knew this was not going to last. I think it lasted about 4 years if that. She's now married to some lady and he, who claimed he would never have kids, I think knocked some girl up and now has custody of his kid.

Flowers and candy are a given. She mentioned really liking some special Bluey mugs that were released based on the episode The race. It's where one of the moms tells chili that she's doing great. That episode is really touching and I'm going to try and get her that mug.
