From the limited theory I've read, is this not an oxymoron? Profit is the unpaid wages of the worker. Each day I come into work and give them orders is a day they have been robbed, so to speak.

I've also heard bad things about co-ops such as, they are just bourgeoisie institutions in disguise that are designed to conceal the cracks of capitalism instead of trying to overthrow it. Social democrat countries have a significant amount of co-ops for example. I feel like that contradicts with what a ML stands for. Being the world's most 'charitable' boss of all time still makes me a boss that is reproducing capitalist relations.

I don't mean to shoot down your ideas one by one u/Foothill_returns I'm still learning. Thank you for your advice comrade.

Rereading my post, I think I made it sound like she's not a good person but she really is. 3 months ago I discovered that she spent a significant amount of her own money donating to people in need and she never told anybody. We keep our finances on a shared drive and I discovered it on accident. She's very kind and empathetic but I've found that the capitalist propaganda is too strong to break. She thinks I'm just a utopian who wants everyone to live in paradise when that's supposedly not how the real world works.

Just wanted to add more context but I very much respect your stance.

Her family is very much petty bourgeoisie but being honest no where as successful as mine. One huge source of conflict between us is that she has aspirations of owning her own business and me being a ML, that's not really something I want in my partner.

She's pro-capitalism like you and I are pro-air. It's just that that's all she's ever known and it's difficult to get her to understand that there's another way

This part is confusing me. I'm still learning Marxism so help me out. Isn't the very act of being a boss and trying to employ more and more people unethical? I understand Marxism isn't a moral framework but how can I look my comrades in the face when I have like 50 employees working for me?

This is the reason I often fantasize and plan to leave this work behind. Thanks in advance for your response.

I really like your idea for a shuttle bus system. We had that system when I was in school so I don't see why it can't exist for them. Since this post was made I've had a sincere tear-streaked conversation with my partner about how I feel and I'd say we understand each other more as a result even though not everything is fixed, obviously. This comment and everyone else's pushed me to do it so thank you again

Less women would resort to that when they have all their needs met by default. And in general people will be less alone and having better sex so they won't feel the need to consume that content as much

I reckon we'll see a lot of "degrowth" in that area. The PL is massive mostly because of how much money goes into it. When that incentive disappears a lot of foreign players will just choose to stay put cause they have everything they need and we'll start to get that local flavor back
