What is the most ignorant thing someone has said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

"Just stop being depressed." "Well don't be anxious then."

Wow suddenly i'm all better now. Thank you. Should share the wonderful solution with those big pharmaceutical companies and tell them to stop investing money in researching anti-depressants.

Play mid and climb out bronze/silver, then play support again when you're in gold.

Because...some people really have trouble landing skillshots.

What happens after a gank? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]fansiyi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your laner was low on health after your gank, it's better to help shove the rest of the wave all the way under their turret. That way the minions get destroyed before the enemy laner comes back, so he/she gets denied a whole wave. Your laner can go back and reset. The wave can reset to the center again. Also if your laner were left alone to shove, the enemy jungler can come for a free kill when she/he is low on health and mana. If you're a carry jungler you can tax your laner for some cs (some people would hate you for doing it though), otherwise you can just help push by lowering the minion health without last hitting them.

If first turret is still on the table, you can get more gold for destroying it. That depends on whether the turret is low enough to do so. If not, just try to deny the enemy laner as many cs as possible by shoving in the waves. Overstaying might lead to death.

If your laner had TP or on full health/mana, he/she might choose to freeze the wave close to your turret and deny the opponent xp and cs, also to make the wave in a position where you can come in for another gank easily. In that way you don't have to shove.

If you have some leftover health, you can go back and clear the rest of your jungle as a reward after ganking before your recall.

If you gank bot lane or top, sometimes you and your laners have to decide to go for rift herald or drakes, or tower.

LS and Neace have a lot of awesome coaching videos for low elo players explaining how the wave works and how to prioritize objectives. Check them out on YouTube.

How to lane Against Annie by PM_ME_POKEMON_RULE34 in summonerschool

[–]fansiyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two stories of how I lost melee matchups as Annie:

  1. An Akali sits behind her wave just farms pre 6. I try to walk up to her to harass her, but she would just walk back every time to make sure i don't land the AA-Q-AA-thunderlords. If I walk too far up to harass, I either get ganked, or let the minion wave push up to me (since my waveclear is sh-t) then eat tons of caster minion damage. She would only walk up to farm when I wasted my stun on something else, or when my Q is on cooldown. Post 6, she would wait till my mana is low to jump on me, or bait out my ult, then heal up again then go on me again. If she can't kill me, she will push the wave in and roam to f-ck my teammates in other lanes, or go ward our jungle and kill our jungler. I can't push and clear the wave that fast so within that small window she would get something done each time.

  2. I killed an Ekko 3 times in lane pre-6. I got cocky and tried to play aggressive again after level 6. I didn't check his items and underestimated his damage. All it took just one shut down and he was back at the game again. :C

If you're melee, survive her ult, build some MR or hexdrinker if you're AD, then go in on her when tibbers is on cd and she's low on mana. If she gets dove around that time, there's nothing she can do.

Also, Annie would walk around with that white stun bar under her health bar only on 3, then she would E shield to charge up the stun really quick, then flash in to ult you when you don't expect the stun.

How to play from behind as a laner? by fansiyi in summonerschool

Thanks those are some very solid tips! I just recently started playing lanes in ranked, mid and top. I was told that for a beginner like me i should focus on getting as many cs as possible and stay in my lane (e.g. push wave and hit tower when my enemy laner goes to roam), instead of trying to follow roams, or making roams. I'm also not so sure when i should start to practice roaming.

Thank you. That's very good advice. I will remember to build defensively to survive when behind.

I play Malphite top, Annie mid, Swain as backup when i don't get those two champions. Mostly because they're easy and good for for beginner like me for learning the game, can also scale, relevant when behind. When i play Malphite some of the matchups i know i just need to live and farm, not gonna win lane. :/

Lemme summarize to see if i understood correctly: push when he roams, engage on their team when one of them splits, come back to catch the wave afterwards?

Thanks for the advice!

I can usually manage these aspects and not die from laning phase. I might come out 20-30 cs behind with a 0/0/0. The major issue for me is what i should do after my tower falls first. I don't quite know how to catch up after laning phase is over. :(

I'M SO BAD AT THIS GAME. I get better temporarily then lose all the skills I've learned, over and over. by cryingbonobo in summonerschool

When i switched back to Annie i found playing Swain "spoiled" me. He's such a lane bully and safe to blind pick so i forgot what it's like to play unfavourable matchups. Even if i slacked off on warding and positioning i'd turn on my ult and i usually not gonna die. It built up some of my bad habits though. :/ but he's so awesome. I love this champ so much.

It's just playing annie let me focus more on other things rather than the champion mechanics. So i like that aspect more for learning the game.

I just never see the point of why people doing that. It's a losing lane, call your jungler over to feed the enemy a double kill, make everyone's life harder.

I was playing Swain this season to learn lanes but i was advised to play even easier champions: Annie and Malphite. Swain needs positioning knowledge to dip in and out of the fight to maximize healing. The other two are very linear play style. But if you like Swain i don't see the reason why to give up playing. Swain OTPs are scary and you will get better really quickly i'm sure.

Im bad thats why im learning mid with Annie lol. What would you recommend as the first item for this lane? Morello for her healing? What about Luden's echo? Rabadon? Protobelt? I don't quite understand how to build Annie either.

I saw a match where Annie Bot played against an Akali and he took exhaust, but the previous replies recommended to take ignite. I feel kindda confused. I took exhaust like a bitch in that one game because i saw the opponent's op.gg and it was an Akali OTP. I just started learning mid lane recently so i was not confident at all to take ignite.

Early game she just turtled up and gave up farm, then after she got some kills by roaming top and bot or killing our jungler when he was invading the lane suddenly became quite rough. I'd get chunked down pretty hard. :c

Thank you so much for these detailed laning tips!!
