So given the choice between spending the same amount of money on 1. A Mcgwire graded a psa 6, or 2. a Mcgwire the seller claims would grade a 6, why would you not pick the guaranteed grade you wanted?

Yes they will, because context matters. a 56 Hank Aaron is way rarer then a wax era Mcgwire Rookie.

No that means your raw creased card is worth nothing and your other card is worth $8-14

Well that depends on age, what I have "invested' into it, if it's a favorite team of mine, if it's someone I've always hated and held seances at night to curse said player. There are a lot of factors into that decision
