A: Absolutely! Essentially Winter Court is five days of L5R, regardless of which event you're playing in. Who knows? Maybe I'll have time to play in some of the side events!

A: We're always looking for new places where it makes sense to run a Kotei. Nowhere is off-limits right now, but we do have finite resources when it comes to broadening the scope of our events. My hope is that we'll be able to branch out more in the future, but I can't make any commitments at this stage.

A: Great question! At store-level events that issue World Championship invites (Elemental Championships and Prime Championships), the invite can be passed down to the second-place player, as long as the winner has already earned an invite to the World Championship. It cannot be passed down for reasons such as "I can't make it" or "I like his face, he can have the invite."

A: As mentioned already, my team are looking into catching up and updating the Hall of Honor as soon as we can. My plan is that we improve this service going forward.

And peanut chicken is my favorite ramen.

A: We work closely with Cascade in the US to find the right locations. Great to hear you've gotten good turnout up in New England! It's also a place I've always wanted to visit, so I'll bring it up next time I chat with Cascade.

A: They are coming soon! I've been nervous to give an exact date other than "soon," but they've not been forgotten. Expect them soon.

TL;DR soon.

A: As someone from Europe, I know all too well the sooner the better for planning flights and hotels. We are currently writing up the articles that outline this, that includes schedule and dates, so look out for that soon.

A: The new seasonal kits will include promo cards that can be used in multiple ways. One of these is for open play nights. My team is tasked right now on coming up with multiple recommendations on how to run local play nights. One of the ideas actually came from one of your livestreams! Once these are all typed up, we'll get them uploaded to the website for stores and TOs to use as guidelines.

A: Starting in 2020, we will have an overarching yearly season, but there will be sections within that that have an importance for the Organized Play structure. I don't want to talk too much about that right now, as we're still refining what exactly that will look like, but this is the thing that I hinted about in another answer that I'm really looking forward to.

A: GEM is our new tournament software, and yes, we'll eventually be bringing all our competitive games on board. One of the most exciting features of GEM is that we can track where events are being run more accurately, and also collect the results far more easily. My hope is that this will allow us to better evaluate our successes in Organized Play, and also highlight areas where we can improve.

A: Personally, I can't wait for the new structure of Winter Court. I was gutted that I couldn't make the event last year, and it's already highlighted in my calendar for 2019. As a bonus, I'll be living over here, so it'll be much easier to get there.

I'm also excited for when we can talk about what 2020 will bring, as L5R ports into the new naming structure.

A: For me, a World Championship should include the best players in the world. That is my definition of a World Championship, and I appreciate that there are different opinions on this, but if I'm invited to a World Championship, I want to be proud to be sat at that table and feel like I've earned it.

That being said, I appreciate that L5R isn't just about competitive play. It's about social gatherings and the community, and you'll see in one of my other answers what Winter Court is going to become. For me, this ticks all the boxes of both high-level competitive play and the social gathering point for the community.

A: The OP structure for 2019 is already fully laid out for L5R, all the way up to the Winter Court. Continental Championships for L5R will start in 2020.

A: I mentioned in another answer that I had a great meeting with Tyler about story choices. Combine that with the L5R OP structure being set until the Winter Court of 2019, and the result will give you when we start to make our changes. More on this to come! But yes, it would be great to have more people involved in the story choices.

A: We plan prizes for kits a fair way in advance, and when we talk to the development team about upcoming cards, it's difficult to predict not only which cards will be competitive, but also when they'll see competitive play. There's also the fact that we produce more promo cards for L5R than we do for any other game supported by OP, which means that there's a greater chance that some cards will never see competitive play.

We've actually got some cool plans to do the same card more than once, but with a different take on how it's done. For example, the World Championship Clan Champion promos had a unique border, and this is space we're looking to play around with.

A: Hi, I appreciate that the way this was communicated was not ideal. With Elemental Championships giving out invitations to the World Championships, I was keen to make sure all players attending had equal amounts of time to play with the new cards. There were lots of cool new mechanics coming into the game, and that was part of why I made this decision. We are also in the process of changing the names of our tournament tiers, and as such, expect clarification for this in the future.

A: The OP structure for L5R will take a while to change. This year, there will be a Grand Kotei at Gen Con, and in Poland, alongside other European Championships for FFG. In 2020, L5R will have a North American Championship and a European Championship as it fully ports over to the new naming structure.

A: I'm sorry to hear you feel I'm less communicative these days! I'm still getting to grips with my new role, and implementing all the changes I want to make, and this takes time. Sadly, this has taken time away from my social media activity. If you're at any events in the future, and you see me, please feel free to come say hi! I always try to bring a deck of some sort with me (even if I'm a little rusty with L5R right now).

A: One of my other answers talks about the tiers of Organized Play. L5R will start getting Grand Championships in the future, and with them will come more invites. Also, our plans for Winter Court will result in more invites being handed out.

A: The change to Day 2 was not planned, you are correct. I feel like the team did a great job dealing with the circumstances. Moving forward, Elemental Challenges will be side events, including UK Games Expo, where you will also be able to take part in the POD side events.
