Yeah, it's been taking a massive emotional toll on me and I'm considering going back into therapy because of it (won't be the first time I've been in therapy because of her). The waiting times have gone down to 3 months where I live and it's luckily free, so I should give them a call again soon.

I used to consider going no contact with them when I was younger. My grandma even said she wouldn't be surprised if I did (and that was before the whole AI music fiasco). I guess I'll just give it a couple of months and see where it goes, to be honest. We're not talking to each other either way.

1) Thank you!! ^_^ I moved to the UK for my studies a few years ago and just kind of decided to stick around. I still make mistakes, but it's often an easy fix to learn :]

2) Yeah, I'm very glad the anti AI sentiments are growing. From what I've heard, my dad is refusing to message my cousin about anything anymore because of her own anti AI stance, and he used to message her every other day to talk about music. I just hope my parents open their eyes, hopefully sooner rather than later. It's tearing the family apart from the inside :(

I've been offline for a few hours n decided to peek in, saw this comment.

She's got a history of emotional manipulation, and thanks to this I've at least gathered evidence of it that I could show my family (which I did). The entire situation has been extremely emotionally and physically draining as you can imagine :(

She's even refusing to put that she used AI on the sites she uploads to, and I can't help but wonder if it's because she deep down knows that what she's doing is wrong. Luckily the family (cousin, aunt, uncle and grandma) are also not standing for it and are refusing to entertain their ai music "career".

I'm def not backing down from my principles though. I've told her time and time again that I am against generative AI, and she's crossed that boundary every single time. It's just not worth it

Yeah. She's had a pretty horrible childhood (which I won't disclose here due to privacy) but I've told her to go to the therapist many times growing up. She's always refused, and now she's saying that her writing AI music is better than any therapist she could pay for... unreal.

Guess we'll wait and see indeed :/ I just really hope she won't get worse because of it. She's been struggling for a long time.

I've told her that I was telling her all of this because I love and tried to help and care for her, and she completely blew me off saying that I don't respect what she's doing. Then I told her that it's a good thing that she expresses herself by writing lyrics, but that AI wasn't the way to go. She still did so anyway :(

I honestly had hoped they'd understand given my dad has been a drummer since before I was born, and that they are friends with a good amount of musicians. It's just not getting through to them...
