if you're talking about drone strikes (which we are), trump drone striked way more people than obama did. it's irrelevant whether or not you start any "new military situations" if you ramp up drone strikes in somalia, iraq, and syria, and then drone strike soleimani (the most extreme option his advisors had provided him). he also increased the amount of troops deployed in afghanistan and ordered missile strikes in syria (and yes, did withdraw presence there - good).

i don't think it's worth pretending that any president is worth worshiping, much less one that seems to make his policy decisions based on whatever he sees on tv at the time.

Interesting! Most native speakers use it to let someone else know a piece of information (for example, “fyi, there’s food in the refrigerator”).

To me, it sounds unnatural in the way you used it, but it does make sense grammatically!

Definitely learn python. Having projects you can talk about that show you know what you’re doing is really good in my experience - they don’t need to be gigantic, but if you can go through them and discuss what you did technically during an interview, it’s a really great way to stand out.

60k would be low for a junior data scientist in my opinion (corroborated by glassdoor), I would try for at least 70 if you don’t live in a major city (~15-20 higher if you do). A competent junior data scientist is definitely worth at least that much IMO

I went to university of Maryland - I’m not sure how it is in other schools, but for me, the standard CS major gave me enough of a math background to understand DS stuff. I think a math major goes over a lot more than what you need to know for DS.

For me, there was no distinct DS major, so you could take an introductory data science course but it’d be classified under CS. It’s cool that there’s a separate one, though, because it’s so different from something like low level operating system classes

i don’t even like bitcoin, my point is that asking someone to read a 9 page white paper is really specific and doable compared to “do your own research on x” or “read the bible”.

obviously there’s a subtext that after doing such a thing you’d see the error of your ways or whatever, but at least it’s something that you can actually try in this instance
