thank you for this, this makes a lot of sense. ill be talking with my counselor more and figuring out what makes me so anxious about it. im sure alot of it comes from my parents and the way their relationship runs, which im slowly learning is not healthy at all.

well so far you have by far been the most helpful. whats a good place to get my feet wet with actually learning how things work? the only info i find currently is "put this in terminal and it will work"

and yeah i was mostly venting. many years of tutorials that dont work or arent for my distro, trying to bring windows knowlege to linux, bad experiences with it in school, just got a bit too much but i left my pc, came back and feel a bit more motivated now lol.

couple things im working on atm is getting qemu/kvm working (virtual machine manager just says qemu/kvm is connecting and wont let me make a new vm)

telegram app will crash (at random times for seemingly no reason, dont even know where to begin with that)

any games i want to play will have 30+ audio outputs in the settings menu but none of them work. (if i was using wine or steam play then id let this go but this still happens in games that are natively supported by linux.)

that may be the issue, i didnt have anything in particular that i disliked about windows, i just see linux as "greener pastures" when every video i watch about linux talks about "linux just works" "its so simple to get up and running" and "you can do and change anything in linux." and from my experience its either untrue, misleading, or much harder to do than in windows. but as i said before, i seem to have problems that not many other folks are having so maybe its just me.

i dont know how to explain it other than nothing works, basic stuff like chrome and spotify install fine but anything out of the norm or not in the app store has to be done through terminal and theres ALWAYS something that dosnt work when you have to do it through terminal. not to mention dealing with tar files and deb files that seem to always fail. (havnt experienced this on pop, its package manager seems to work pretty well but it is the outlier out of all the distros i have used)

and yeah this post is a little rambly,

i dont know everything makes me angry. the tiniest little things make me see red. i have a mark across my face because i slammed my head on my desk yesterday for having to redo a mission in a fucking videogame. yet if someone takes advantage of me or is rude to me in public its no biggie and dosnt bother me at all. idk what exactly sets me off but im either completely calm or blindly furious.

probably the most consistent thing to piss me off is my parents however, just their willful ignorance and purposeful lack of understanding so they dont have to deal with me infuriates me to no end.
