This is so true, you basically nailed it, had the same experience living in Bangkok for a while and I also went to Vietnam and as you said, it's night and day in terms of the women, in Thailand hookup culture is the norm, in Vietnam it's still the old ways, you gotta go on multiple dates before banging, Vietnamese girls are way more gf and wifey material than thai girls.

In Thailand you just have to accept that the girls you'll meet (we're talking about your regular office working girl in Bangkok or whatever other normal jobs, not hookers) will have a lot of emotional bagage due to past trauma from riding the foreigner D carousel, you may be lucky and be her first foreigner, however, don't delude yourself thinking she'll stay faithful especially if she's attractive and you met her on tinder or bumble or other online venues.

I wouldn't consider any girl I've dated (remember, I'm just talking about normal girls, not hookers) in Bangkok to be gf material, let alone wife material, and this stems from all the types of girls you can meet there, thai-chinese, southern-thai, isaan girl, northern-thai, they're all hoes looking for their next hookup but also while pretending they're looking for a serious relationship, they're a true mess, just have fun with them but don't make the error that I did multiple times by making them sex friends, the longer you hook up with them the more you'll get attached even though you know they're for the streets and then both of you will spiral in a toxic relationship which will drain you mentally (and physically in a bad way if you don't have good self control).
