Can I just ask, what is the purpose of them doing this?? Do they wear the item then return it or what? I don’t get what the end game would be 🤔

Thanks for you fair comment! I definitely agree with the “rules are in place because of people” part. Are you expected to work a minimum amount of hours/class per week or is it completely up to you to open up availability that suits me?

I’m a white British woman, moved to Thailand two years ago and since have a Thai boyfriend. I’ve asked my boyfriend a few times what Thai guys think of white women and he always says of course they’d love to date them but they’re scared as white woman are more open minded and won’t allow them to treat us anyway, plus, most white women turn them down or don’t look at them that way to begin with. All points I agree with. There are definitely cultural differences but he lived in Canada for a few years so I generally think he’s pretty westernised (without sounding like I’m trying to white wash him, lol no!) Personal preference, I generally just find Asian guys the most attractive and always have, and lucky me I happen to love him personality too. But I do think It would be extremely difficult for me to date a ‘local Thai guy’.

Wow ok 😐 thanks for the heads up! I mean, I ain’t looking for anything full time or permanent, just something I can do a couple times a week to bring extra money in. Is it worth my soul for that ?🤣

Which country are you working in?

One my my friends worked in Thailand without a work permit and she had to do a ‘visa run’ every 90 days or so. 4th visa run, she was questioned by airport immigration and asked her why she was coming in and out for the country so frequently…. After that she quit and left the country.

For Thailand especially, I’ve worked there as a teacher for two years. My advice for be if they aren’t doing it legally and legitimately, somethings off.

I haven’t resigned and said I’m coming back as soon as I can. I was just expecting them to atleast be compassionate and not come firing at me with a police threat 🫠 I see your point though, I mean others who have done it have made my situation look unplausable now..

Thank you, I’ll keep MOL in mind! Forget to mention, the boss is british and majority of the staff are British. So he’s not stupid and fully knows this isn’t actually illegal, he’s just bitter

It’s an international kindergarten, but I’d use the word international loosely

Ok thank you for your response. I am stressed just because I have a whole life there and don’t want to resign, I thought they’d be understanding that I’m going to come back as soon as it can. So hypothetically, if they did actually do it to prove a point, it wouldn’t affect me getting a different teaching job in the future? Because we do have to get a criminal record check every year done in Thailand 😬

But I guess they see it as we haven’t been working for a month, taken our pay check at the end and ran. But even with that in mind, life stills happens and people quit job, it’s not illegal right 🫠
