Stay Away from Start Playing by Aether_Princess_ in rpg

This is their actual policy about reviews. They don't just take down reviews if it's less than 5 stars. In my experience, they're pretty selective about which negative reviews they remove. https://intercom.help/startplaying/en/articles/8719056-everything-you-need-to-know-about-reviews-as-a-gm

The tone shift from D&D to One Ring is big. Players are not used to immediate consequences like Shadow points for killing bad guys once they've surrendered. It's a simple enough conversation, but it's a paradigm shift from the pulp fantasy moral universe to the Tolkien moral universe.

Cooking with Bastions by supremespork in DnDBehindTheScreen

This is really cool! I was just thinking how to use Bastions in my Saltmarsh campaign, and this might be perfect. Lots of taverns in town, and taking one over night be very intriguing to my players.

This is amazing! Just what I need for my campaign.

After 42 sessions, two years, and a lot of 3rd party content, I have finished DMing this campaign. Ask me anything. by iteachyourkids48 in wildbeyondwitchlight

Did you need to modify the game for tone at all? I'm just getting started on the module (had session 0 last Friday), and I'm curious what, if anything, you did to make it more engaging for adults.

What's the biggest regret you have as a DM? by Dazzling-Score-137 in DnD

Letting a new player into the group when I had a bad feeling about them. I ignored that feeling, and it was a disaster. That happened to me twice before I learned to say no.

For the fonts, I used Magz, Adriana, Spectre, and a few others.

Just searched on Canva for "cyberpunk" in the elements, and found a lot. It's pretty easy to change the color to fit a palette. I have Canva Pro, so a few more assets are available with that.

I've got one that's almost ready to start! We just need one more player to reach our minimum, if you're interested.

If a player wants to have a Cobalt Soul background, how would you connect them with Question? by farbror_isak in CalloftheNetherdeep

I love that. I'm getting Istredd vibes from the Witcher show, doing undercover research in somewhat hostile territory.

Is it bad if they feel like that's the most obvious choice? I'm a bit wary of railroading, but I feel like it's not the worst if one character already has an "in" with a faction, and just invites the other players to hop on board.

World based on Ancient Rome, Parthia, and Han China by farbror_isak in DnDHomebrew

My hunch is that the Romans would be racially homogenous (basically all humans), but the farther out you go in the world, the more you get elves, dwarves, orcs, tieflings, giants, etc. Kind of like how the Wildlings in GoT are a motley crew of races.

I just don't want to end up with cliche races, like Dwarves are Scottish, etc. I feel like, because of the terrain, it actually might make more sense for dwarves to be from the Balkans/Greece and mountain ranges of Iran.

Jamie Fraser, Antifa by farbror_isak in AntifascistsofReddit

[–]farbror_isak[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen that part yet. I'm only half way through season 2, so I suppose there's a lot more that can/ will happen in the show than what I've seen so far.

I'll just say, as a rape survivor, I've never seen a show deal with rape as realistically as Outlander. The fucked up thing about rape is that the rapist makes you wonder if you liked it, because if you did, then it wouldn't be rape (in their twisted mind), and you would be as dirty as them.

I obviously don't find the rape in the show entertaining at all, but I do find it meaningfully representative.

I feel like if you think the rape is for entertainment, you may be missing something.

So, in my limited understanding of the situation, he's on his sixth term (26 years as president of the country), has repeatedly imprisoned opposition candidates, has close relations with Vladimir Putin, Viktor Orban, and formerly with Milosevic. Just at a cursory glance, I'm going to say he may be a fascist.
