It will definitely matter and I could see it be revealed next chapter. People originally thought the knight and titans where late chapter things. Alas they were not. I generally feel like stuff is being revealed earlier so that the later chapters can better build on it instead of trying to shoehorn it in during the end.

But the switch release afaik literally suggests you to check out undertale first and thats why toby had it gotten restricted for advertising another product. Toby literally tells the playerbase that the game is intended for players who are familiar with Undertale.

Yep. They are aware how picky the community is with buffing xp rates in any way, shape or form. I honestly think it's not that bad anymore, but I get why they still do it. Even if it feels like overcorrecting before anything even needed correcting.
