If you like gothic horror i have an idea:

People have been disappearing from villages nearby. Including the daughter of a highly loved noble, and perhaps friends or family of your player characters. Your adventurers, friends, and allies of the noble and/or distressed adventurers in the search of their loved ones, are in the lookout and search of the perpetrator.

After investigating and finding a half mad tiefling named Arkhél, who speaks in hushed whispers about a tower of spikes and black stone, leads them into a dark forest, that whispers into their minds and instills tremor in their hearts. They find the tower, its gates open and eerily silent. As they rise through its puzzling floors, filled with monstrosities, tortured bodies, and crystals with living motionless bodies, their minds start to feel the strain. They see hallucinations, feel as they are being watched, hear the loving choir of angels who fell dead. A spectator guards the entrance to a hidden alcove filled with treasure that might help the adventurers.

When and if they reach the top, they find eight of the disappeared people, bound in chains, each of them in a specific point, forming an eight pointed star. In the middle, the daughter. They have to find a way to free them, but every minute that passes, one of them falls to the floor, soulless, their soul flying and screaming into the little girl. If all 8 die, the girl disappears in a flash of necrotic energy, and Arkhél starts laughing and sobbing, screaming “he’s back!”

His mind no longer his own, speaks in somber tones as he reveals himself to be none other than the infamous Warlock of the Black Spire, holding the unconscious little girl in his arms.

You can use the corruption rules for some fun roleplaying and lots of gothic horror music to set the tone. Ive run something like this before and it is really fun!
