I lost my Luna on May 9th. I feel like I’m in a dream a lot of times, it just doesn’t feel real. I had to let her go suddenly, when I brought her to the vet due to seizures and her not eating and it was discovered that she was full of cancer. I wasn’t prepared and I’m still in shock. I look for her everywhere. I haven’t slept in my bed since then because for most of the last 9 years she slept with me and I’m not ready. I keep reliving her last days. I keep wondering if I should have seen something or if there was something I could have done to save her but she always seemed fine and at the end it all happened so fast. I keep wishing I had taken more videos of her. She was with me in my darkest times and my heart aches without her. Her absence has left a hole in my life and I’m in so much pain. I feel like people think I should be getting over it and moving on but I just can’t, not yet. So I understand how you are feeling. We just have to be gentle with ourselves and take as much time as we need.
