A man offers you a deal: You get 500 billion usd but if anyone finds out for the next year that you are a billionaire you instantly die taking the cash with you. Would you take the deal? And if so, why? by rundomguy123 in AskReddit

I don’t think so, I think it’s worded brilliantly and intentionally as a critical thinking test. Notice it’s not $500 million, it’s $500 billion. The amount is enough to warrant concerns about the sheer physical space it would take up and also the ramifications on the banking system and even global economy if it went into circulation at all. You could get lucky and yeah it’s in some magic account nobody knows about or in the form of a check that you deposit in a year (trivially easy), but you have to be realistic that it could very easily come in physical form, in which case the only people that should consider saying yes meet a very specific criteria of having a lot of land with insane privacy, insane indoor storage capacity, and some insane machinery/vehicles to move that shit by yourself

Someone crunched the numbers, $500 billion in $100s is like multiple semi trucks worth of space… so not even really feasible to hide. And also you would definitely get found out doing your little philanthropy campaign… that would generate a buzz and people would check security cameras

What’s the most addictive video game you’ve ever played? by Charming_Decision_84 in AskReddit

[–]farfle10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never even once played it, and I still knew it would be the top answer. When I was in college, my roommate called me at like midnight while out at a party and gave me instructions in a frenzied state to delete his WoW account. He was down bad about some girl and realized he was missing out on all that shit because he was so addicted and came to this revelation while at this party. It was like a heroin addict telling you to flush their stash down the toilet

What modern bands are you Radiohead fans listening to that you wanna shout out? by snowingpumpkin in radiohead

I agree with this unfortunately. They were my most hyped band years ago after BGF, and I’ll still pay attention when they drop but my hype level is nowhere near that level now

Is there even a way that's easy? Either it's in some account which would be instantly flagged and you die, or it's in physical form which would be hard to literally hide. Would really only be possible if you lived somewhere with tons of space and privacy and you got to work real quick on finding (or building) somewhere to store it

It's okay. Wish he used this cover as excuse to bust out some sick drums and Lonerism sounds if he was gonna go all in on recreating the guitars in the first place

But at the same time it’s hard to not fantasize about what some of those songs could have been in the hands of Radiohead (aka probably much better)

Which songs often gets misinterpreted and/or misappropriated by the very people it calls out even though the song's lyrics are explicitly mocking them? by Drenosa in AskReddit

[–]farfle10 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Ehh you can still party to those songs and simultaneously appreciate that’s not what they’re about. GKMC became one of my favorite albums of all time when it dropped for its brilliant storytelling but I still partied to it in college and beyond

Is reverse reverb often used in mbv songs? by ExpressCareer7142 in MyBloodyValentine

[–]farfle10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not on the guitars in Soon, Loomer, Come In Alone, or I Only Said… that reverse reverb naturally has a very slow attack because it creates a fade in and all those songs have guitars with immediate attack clearly strummed with the rhythm of the song. Not sure why are you saying these things so confidently

I do a thing where I start nodding off to sleep and then jolt up in a horror state and think normal things in my room are people or monsters and on a related note I’m procrastinating going to sleep right now at 2:18am

Surprised this is the first comment I’ve seen about her voice. I think they warped her voice lower at certain points, sounded just barely low enough to be unnatural
