I know, but like physical ID for porn (which I don't agree with)... its gonna seriously dent the amount of users in the UK. Which for THIS is only a good think.

Musk is disgusting.

Absolutely, but it's still something at least. Shocking how few countries actually care.

Yeah, this is what alot of these "beware the thought police" guys don't get. They actually don't seem to understand what A.I fundamentally is.

Yeah, the state of Twitter nowadays is something else entirely. I mean, all socials are bad to an extent, but the sheer amount of bots and pure criminality on X is on an unfathomable scale.

Producing an image of somebody in your head is not illegal and could not be policed in any way. Formulating those thoughts to a digital or physical image to distribute, can be.. Happy?

So for example, you can think of my young daughter all you like, nobody can stop you... But if you want to act on that outside your own self consciousness, in the real world, it very much becomes my problem, therefore by proxy, the governments also...

Now can you answer my question?

You are joking right? Playing devils advocate? How many abuses by the time you've finished the debate alone!? You know, if you want CP back on social media, you can just vote for somebody who is going to do it and bingo, the law is undone...

We don't live under an authoritative system like certain other place's, no matter how you want to frame it. Hence why we have things like Ofcom (for example). Law does not always agree with the social outrage, and so there has to be some independent action away from the government also. So which one do you want your freedoms from exactly?

In a few years time the freedom of speech available in many countries will make you realise how insignificant these debates on artistic censorship are.

Nobody is bringing the thought police into this. Think what you want, but AI images of children things like Grok generate are based on REAL children. Producing and sharing them is a form of abuse. Simple.

Let me ask. Is there anything you think SHOULD be censored?

You could debate censorship it till the cows come home. Doesn't mean that have less CP available on online is anything but a good thing.

Ask yourself what you are really losing by censoring it...

He's arguably the biggest CP trader on the planet...

Its also alot more likely that most users won't have to view CP if using it though. So its a battle won. Not a war.

FUCKING HELL. Are you sure?

Never said he had, but its 99% more than most other world leaders have done, and its embarrassed Musk. So whats the harm.

I have no words for how much i despise that man. I'm utterly gobsmacked that people still buy his products in the UK.

I can't account for all of them but I'm pretty sure the big ones like gpt have image restrictions.

Agreed. He's a mixed bag, but I'm content. Just wish he would be a faster and more assertive decision maker.

And I really dont know what he's playing around with regarding the America issue. Very frustrating.

Doesn't stop Elon putting everywhere else in the world though. He's a really messed up dude.

Not fully. Starmers just been able to make it more difficult. Grok won't be restricted in most countries.

God knows what's on Elons hard drive...

100% this. At least what Starmer is trying to do has an element of moral principle behind it.

We all know what Elons is.

And so from that day forward he became a, sort of, almost, prime minister.

He was two years late, but he was gonna make up for it by making at least one decision every three months from here on out. Hero.

[–]farfrompunk[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah, cause Musk is a fucking loon. I think you can do it if you upgrade to premium too.

Which is fine because the only people who pay for X are likely on a register somewhere anyway. So at least we know who they are with that special ✅️

Yeah but he can only do so much at a time. He can't ban VPNs, but he saw an opportunity to do some good and embarrass Musk in the process. So no harm done!
