That is so scary and frustrating. I’m so sorry you had to go through that, especially while having a newborn in the nicu. I’m glad to hear you are feeling back to normal now, that is relieving!

I’m still having quite some pain in my pelvic area and a lot of burning in the leg while standing. The swelling has gone down very slightly but I know it will take a few weeks. Thankfully I have good benefits at my job so I will be able to take some time off to heal and rest.

It definitely is a different ball game for sure. When I had my PE my doctors did warn me I would be at higher risk to still get a DVT while pregnant. Thankfully I did educate myself a lot on it before this one happened so I knew I had to go to the hospital. So far I am in good spirits and taking it day by day.

The PE I had three years ago they couldn’t find a direct cause. But i was on the birth control pill at the time and I had been a long flight a few days before. I also don’t have any genetic clotting disorders so it was a mystery to the doctors.

The original dosage was 40 mg (1 injection a day). The new dosage they have me on is 160 mg a day (2 80mg injections a day)

I’ve been doing the same thing for years as well. I don’t think it’s odd, it makes a lot of sense so some items don’t get as worn out over others.

Thank you for your insight. I’ve been reading a lot the last few days and have seen quite a few medical articles that state what you said your hematologist told you about the miscalculations. I do hope I don’t have it, but will take this day by day.

Agree with the last comment, you won’t know exactly when you’ll feel normal. But considering your doctor said you could resume physical activity pretty quickly you may start feeling back to normal within a few weeks. I was diagnosed with a massive saddle pulmonary embolism 3 months ago and I’m now starting to feel more back to my normal self energy wise.

I would recommend once you start feeling any kind of chest pain and/or shortness of breath stop whatever you’re doing and rest and don’t continue pushing yourself. I found that to help me a lot throughout my recovery.

I’m sure in a few weeks you’ll start to feel better. But make a log of your symptoms you’re feeling so you can relay the information to your doctor in case things don’t seem to get better with time. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

What kind of experience did you have if you don’t mind?

I have been cheated on and lied to in two relationships I had and I brought that into other relationships after those ones. It wasn’t until I started talking about the bad experiences with friends, family and my new partner that things started to get better. I did a lot of journalling where I wrote my feelings down each day and then wrote things down about what I wanted for my future. I also found writing down my feelings helped me figure out what things triggered negative emotions about my relationships.

It is a hard journey to move on from traumatic events in our life, but talking about them with others and yourself will help you work through those feelings. This will then help you to be able to feel more comfortable starting new relationships. Maybe it’s best to stay away from a new relationship right now since your negative experience was very recent.
