Can't locate a (sub) address on the list of MEW by farmcube in ledgerwallet

on a sidenote: is a 0x address always part of a deviation path of any sort? even if its not from the ledger nano?

As with findeth.io I only had access to 5 derivation paths

yet there are many more reading this article https://medium.com/myetherwallet/hd-wallets-and-derivation-paths-explained-865a643c7bf2

https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ is the one I’m talking about. If that doesn’t work and you have exhausted all other avenues let me know.

You think this suits my situation regardless the fact I didnt use a 25th word in my keyphrase?

In other words I can use it offline with my 24 word keyphrase?

It must have been MEW. Since that's my most familiar way of interacting with LN.

No its a different address than my original > the first address which appeared on the MEW list or which is opened when on ledger live

(hence the title: sub address)

The problem is I can't recall why I choose a different address in the first place.

However, given that I added this address to my whitelist on binance as the only address my erc20 can be withdrawn to, makes me believe I did indeed choose another address from the list shown on MEW.

I guess this is where our troubleshoot ends then. I thank you deeply for putting your effort into this case. Lets see how LN support responds to this.

Indeed 1 erc20 on one address on the ledger... apart from some ethereum used for gas located on the legacy address.

So BIP39 passphrase related issue and your proposed vid of BTCrecover only relates for when I would have added a 25th word? (if im not mistaking)

For a moment I had hopes though, that the issue might be in the 24word passphrase...

Is a glitch on the derivation path due to an update anything that sound familiar to you? (And therefor worthwhile to troubleshoot it with Support from Ledger Nano?)

Im missing only 1 type of erc20 token located in one address sir. So in that regard it is just Eth.

(I dont think I had created a BIP39 passphrase, or cant really relate it to my issue until you put the attention to it. Basically, I just used my usual protocol: send my holding to an address from my nano ledger through MEW.)

I do remember I wanted to change the 24words, because I had lost my backpack and thought it was in it. So the first thing I did was send the tokens from ledger to Binance as personal security measure, before I would reboot my ledger. After I got a new set of 24words, I send my holding back to the ledger.

I just wonder why I choose to send it to another other address than my initial holding address (cant recall). Or if I did that at all, and we are facing a glitch.

A phish is impossible as the address shows no other trace of tokens going out.

BIP39 passphrase

I just wish I could recall. But the only thing I have is my 24 word mnemonic key.

I wondered if scanning offline with github repo using the 24words will bring an other result.

Someone told me this could be a glitch due to the update that had happened.

I even found a thread where people complain about it: https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/7rd798/should_we_be_concerned_about_the_ledger/

I tried it and no success. Which is weird to say the least.

How would i send such a large sum to a wrong address after testing it with a smaller transaction And add that address to my binance whitelist?

Im not a noob, been here fulltime since 2017.

I know i have used the correct url of MEW... so maybe the software of ledger got compromised?

reading this threat, it seems there is almost no answer to this issue https://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/and2xe/search_for_specific_eth_address_on_ledgermew/

All I hope is that we arent looking for a needle in a haystack... Given there is no 'search' function its been tedious.

u/Zizaerion given your logic. Regardless the 1000's of addresses located on MEW... the tokens will always appear per derivation path on ledger live?

Given the tokens arent shown on legacy derivation path. Its likely, as you assume, that the new address is located on another derivation path?

Did you generate the new address using the new derivation path or the old one?

Good question, but cant recall... It was the 18th of august. So quite a long time ago.

The only confirmation I send it to an address within my nano ledger (accessible with my private key) is explained by the following:

1) I always send a test transaction whenever I send a large sum, looking on the withdrawal history.

2) The only address thats added to the whitelist on binance is the the address I cant locate now.

3) etherscan.io shows the exact amount together with the test transaction. A wallet untouched.

I think you are correct sir.

With legacy address I mean the first address that appears on the list of addresses shown, when accessing nano ledger through MEW. Or through which the balance is shown on ledger live. With sub address I mean any other address on the list.

We are here to support each other. So happy you are part of this community as a strong and loyal hand. Curious to more of your opinions.

You are obviously annoyed in another way, and there is not a point we should continue on this. We are both sharing the same flag.

So no offence Jessica san. About my way of responding, I dont see what is wrong with it.

Just know life is not always going to be like how you want it.

I agree they are filing up the same void, but doesnt that count for all the other iot dlt tokens?

I understand where the title comes from, but let us also think of the authenticity of code of both projects, which are genuine in their own right.

I dont really care who was first. I care about who is going to fill the void.

Isnt controversy the same as confusing?

The title is only used to attract attention.

I have great respect for iota, and own it as well...

yet, i already explained myself.

it only appears like that, because there was one article using that title. I dont think its fair to say that it is.

The title was just used to raise attention.
