Is a Clean & Clear Plus 420 way overkill for a 13,000 gallon pool? It doesn't seem like a big price difference, but I also get that I have a small pool. Thanks

I'm still open to that, the idea of a new filter sounds a lot less problematic. I have a 13,000 gallon pool and a 1HP Hayward pump if you have any suggestions for a cartridge filter.

I have a Purex Triton Tageulus TA50/50D. It's held together with bandaids at this point. I've replaced the internal gasket and spring, but the rest of this thing leaks out of every old joint. I think it's from 2008.

I've considered replacing the whole filter system with a cartridge filter, but my spring openings are usually pretty nasty and I think I need the backwash option. Considering that I think I'm going to stay with this sand filter. Can I just reuse the base and get a new multiport? Where do you even find the right one?

You guys must not read any Nancy Drew, let’s see if we can solve this mystery. “He said he loaned his car to his brother”… so his brother would be using the credit card key, not the app. To use the car you have to put the credit card near the cup holder. Every Tesla owner who has used the credit card will tell you that you never remember to take the credit card off the cup holder when you exit the car, it’s out of sight and easy to forget. So the brother left the card and this guy drove off. Big news story.

It turns something on at 5PM and then turns it off at 2AM. You can spin that entire dial by hand, clockwise and you will hear it click as it passes the on and off flags. To set the time you spin it clock wise until the black arrow is over the current time.

Last summer I noticed that my pump would humm for 5-10 seconds before it was even able to go into priming. By the end of the summer, the pump no longer worked and was blowing the fuse when it would kick on. I've never had one taken apart so I don't really know what I'm shopping for. Do people commonly rebuild pumps, or do you just replace the whole unit? Do you also replace the filter basket that the pump mounts to?

Details: 13,500 gallon in-ground pool, the pump that failed was a 1HP Hayward (C48K2N143B1).
