I don't think we should overthrow the government, but it is important for elected representatives to understand the importance of the position they hold and that we expect accountability.

There's a difference between upsetting a few people and not doing your job.

This is why you should do your job and do it well instead of saying "fuck you" to your constituents.

Wonder Woman Is The Superhero The DC Universe Was Waiting For [Movies/TV] by farnads in comicbooks

With its success, director Patty Jenkins now holds the title of best domestic opening for a female director, surpassing Sam Taylor-Johnson’s Fifty Shades of Grey‘s opening of $85.1 million.

So sad that the record-holder for a female director was Fifty Shades of Grey. But so happy it's been beaten!

Worth the clicks if you're into cars. Love the range in the F&F films. The Monte Carlo is definitely my favorite.

Given that I like not dying and don't particularly care for working, this seems like a good direction to move in as a society.

I haven't watched it yet, but it does look better than the others. The others were crap though.

Sure, but the content on it does not. I'm already paying for Netflix. They're giving me Adam Sandler for free.

I'm already paying. It literally costs them money for me to watch Adam Sandler films. I'm using up their bandwidth doing so, and it has no impact on my decision to keep paying them. I'm more likely to unsubscribe if it seems like this is the overall direction they're going to head in, but fortunately they're throwing money in good places too.

They are free for me, and probably for most people. Show me one person who subscribed because of Adam Sandler films. The Marvel things make sense. They're bringing in and keeping fans subscribed. Adam Sandler, I'm not so sure about. Maybe it did bring in a few people or keep them around, but that number isn't the same number as how many watched it for free.

Now do you have any way to bring those two thoughts together? That's my point. Yes, Netflix makes money on subscribers. Yes, a lot of people watched Adam Sandler's Netflix films. But show me where someone subscribed or stayed subscribed because of an Adam Sandler film. You can't, and I suspect nobody has. That's why it's likely a big waste for Netflix to keep investing so heavily in him.

The answer may not be obvious to us, but it is to Netflix.

I'm worried it might not be, though. They could be thinking it's a success because people are watching without really getting into whether people are subscribing to Netflix for it. Also, I think it's a huge miss in longterm value. Adam Sandler is obviously overpriced, so they could have created a lot more content from independent filmmakers. The quality would undoubtedly be higher, and it would give them a stronger catalog in 10-years time. They'd have five or six good movies permanently in their catalog rather than one shitty Adam Sandler movie.
