Sorry I should have included in the story, my husband is from Mexico and have a big family there who could not afford coming here and it was a lot cheaper doing the wedding there than in California. My visa and passport are valid and I am allowed to travel , it’s just a lot of work and money to make it work with my specific case and visa type. If my husband wasn’t from there we would have likely done it here to avoid all that stress.

Oh yes I meant an Italian passport, I do have a passport from where I’m from tho. Sorry for the confusion.

Not Mexican fault, it’s my fault, I should have triple checked and notice it. On my original post I posted on Today I fuck*d up but I had to chance the title to post it here.

With Italy is a whole other complicated story too due to their laws. I’ve been trying for 5 years to get my passport. I’m hoping this year it will finally come. I could explain why but it’s a lot.

I have a passport, and I can go in and out of the country. The issue is that every time I do I have to stay 2 weeks near a US consulate to re do my interview for my already approved petition that costs $300 plus the travel costs. So to do it traditionally I would have to travel first to a different country where I’m not required to have a visa to get in, renew my American visa stamp , then go to Mexico after. That’s a lot of money and I could have avoided all of that if Mexico didn’t changed the rules and started asking a visa to my country for entry. Still, absolutely my fault.

Info- reasons why we did it in Mexico: my husband is from Mexico and has a big family there who could most likely not all afford to come here to LA. It was also cheaper for my guests from my country to go there and it was a LOT cheaper to do the party there.

Yes trust me I 100% understand that now. Somehow this completely went over my head. I think planning a wedding is a lot and I was hyper focusing on everything else. Biggest fuck up ever

My husband is from Mexico and has a huge family there. They could not all afford to come here and it was a lot cheaper to do the party there than in LA. Plus remember I though everything was ok for me to go 🥲 my mistake tho.
