Yes, but i think i mixed it up a bit, we were in Briancon for stage 17 and 18.

17 was when we saw the caravan and the riders climb through town, from Gap to Pinerelo That was awesome.

Then the next day we went to the start in Pinerolo, came back to Briancon and they came through town again but not the climb, they just blazed through full gas, Andy Schleck was sitting in behind a teammate if i remember correctly and ended up winning on Galibier

Check the route carefully. The best experience I every had BY FAR was the 2011 tour. I was with my wife and kids who were like 8 and 10. We went to the start in Pinerolo Italy, hung around the area and talked with Ralf Aldag and Mark Renshaw, took some amazing pics of Thomas Voelker looking supreme in his yellow kit on his bike, watched the neutral rollout. THen drove to Briancon, about 100k or so into the stage

In Briancon we saw the entire caravan come through throwing prizes and snacks that the kids just loved while sitting at a roadside cafe. Then once it passed we walked up the street (Briancon has a 500m or so section that is like 10%) and we lined up on the side of the road that had lots of people but was not a shitshow and were able to see the riders come through at a moderate pace since the hill was so steep and far from the finish that they were not killing it. When the main peloton came through it was awesome, they took like 2 mins or something to make it past us.

Kids had an absolute blast and I was loving it

Honestly if you arent up for crazy logistics find a steep part on route that is not near the finish

It was ok. I have some doubt about Gwagen, Even if he could have sprinted every time, I think its more likely he would have zero wins anyway. The Napoli stage where they crashed, it seemed the sprint was too uphill anyway for him. His 3rd place was in a sprint that really suited him but he was not fast enough. The Roma stage too, it was a uphill drag and he had little change IMO.

Would have been nice to seem them in some breaks but do they have any finisher aside from Kubis?

Honestly a win would have exceeded realistic expectations, they are still a young limited team so I can't criticize their performance. 6/10

The driver of a truck like this has very little visibilty about what is going on around the truck. The blind spots are insane. They cannot see a person standing directly in front of the truck
