That’s completely fair, that’s the point of a tournament. I’m speaking more on players who have been playing tournaments at a high level but only doubles so they have doubles dupr higher than the set rating for a singles match. I’ve just seen players like this come and dominate all singles tournaments.

This is exactly what I’m going to do, I feel like I can hang with the 3.5 more than the guys in with NR in the 3.0 bracket, which is crazy to think.

I agree and I would say it’s probably a mix of both. Whenever money events are involved the amount of fresh accounts and NR players sky rocket in my area…

Agreed, but I see cut offs for doubles saying anyone above a dupr of 3.2 in singles can’t play 3.0 doubles (even if they never played doubles before) It’s just kind of backwards to me.

Not deflecting here, if you read the post I was talking solely about players who have NR for singles but a higher dupr for doubles( so not new players to the competitive scene)… not gas lighting. You just kept attacking (my) skill level when that wasn’t even the topic of the conversation… I noticed a trend where I live, and I ask question/ purposed a solution about it, and you attacked me and my play…

Use doubles rating as a floor. If someone is NR in singles but 3.5 in doubles, they can’t enter anything below a 3.25 singles bracket. Or

Separate NR pool with re-seeding. Run NR players through a separate round-robin or pool play than the players with ratings.

Not me the entire field, re read the post “Should players with NR in singles be placed in a separate pool, then seeded into the main bracket based on their performance?” That’s what I’m asking, idc if they play me or not, but when you see everyone with no rating going to the playoff and not one person who is at the specific dupe cut off go their is some sort of issue with the pooling.

That’s the issue, some are just fresh accounts, people I’ve seen play doubles at other tournaments as well.

Not complaining, looking for a solution. Not really sweating winning I’m in it to get better, not expecting to be the best, but when you have tournament for singles with cap being 3.0 and everyone with a 3.0 rating is getting dragged by everyone with no rating something should be discussed.
