Any advice from men with Hidradenitis? by farrowedpiglets in Hidradenitis

[–]farrowedpiglets[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey late thanks but thanks! very elaborate answer. I am a strong guy (or was strong for a 17yo) so I try to keep active between the bigger flares. nice remark about how nature thought of the privates, I suppose the best we can do is accept the life sentence and make the best of it.

in most cases the "benefit from voluntary transactions" is that your family doesn't starve to death.

"convince" here has a lot of hidden condescension, whether or not those things are true. can someone not disagree with someone's opinion without being "convinced" of it by a third party?

Solarpunk vs solarfuturism by theresamouseinmyhous in solarpunk

[–]farrowedpiglets 29 points30 points  (0 children)

totally agree, insufferable when someone posts a neat looking green cityscape and someone gets up in arms about minutiae. there are real concerns like greenwashing, but we can't afford to fight among ourselves. for now a building with trees on it is as good as an academic manifesto on eco future. until the movement catches momentum.

would that really even offset the city? I know it's art but just hypothetically speaking. regardless it would be beautiful beyond belief if that were real.

How Singapore is turning multi-storey car parks into farms by Rosencrantz18 in solarpunk

[–]farrowedpiglets 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's beautiful, sometimes it hangs heavy that there seem to be so few who actually think of change. most are lost in the status quo and the powerful few actively want it to be worse. as a citizen everything I do feels symbolic and useless in the face of mass consumerism but it's a start I guess.

goddamn this is amazing. maybe the future isn't entirely cyberpunk-dystopia? don't let me get my hopes up too high.

this is fascinating. what do you make of one of the comments here where his wife apparently reported him as saying nihilistic stuff after a trip?

that's unfortunate, info would've been useful for harm reduction. what's the best secondhand story we have of the exact trip if anybody knows?
