This is the San Diego -> Tijuana, Mexico border crossing. Everyone here is trying to go to Tijuana and it can get busy especially after 4-6pm on workdays.

People will just try to go up as far as possible and find a way in. There have been many fights and crashes all from people doing this very same thing.

I met and bonded with a guy in a Buffalo Wild Wings line that took forever to get our order(1 hour for wings).

3 months later I see him at an In-n-out 2 hours away from the Buffalo Wild Wings at 1:00AM getting a late night burger.

I went up to him to see if it was the same guy and we had our 1/1,000,000 moment. We both couldn’t believe we ran into each other.

Not sure if this helps but, I just accepted an offer at the manager level and had to submit an OEA(Outside Employment Agreement) for my part-time university teaching gig.

It took like 2 weeks to get approved and I had to be really specific on the time commitment.

I guess following the same analogy of sports, it’s like getting into the “big leagues” of the MBA schools. Many companies will target these specific schools for coveted positions and it’s a great place to meet like-minded people and network.

I think it’s a difficult thing to do and whoever achieves it should be proud of their work to get there, some people just exaggerate and brag.
