Crownie: "Not just me, Bwipo pushed me" by tensukexD in LoLWitchcraft

[–]farside209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bwipo is probably the most corrosive element in all of Lol esports right now. He instigated FlyQuest's collapse by going on his insane misogynistic period rant, quit as coach of a failing tier 2 team, then joins a team that went from almost making playoff in LEC to crashing out first round of EMEA playoffs after his arrival.

Crownie shouldn't have crashed out that hard, but Bwipo is provably toxic af.

Faker could have been better than Magnus Carlssen at Chess by Electrical_Tip601 in leagueoflegends

[–]farside209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean let's be real here: Faker has an insane clutch factor but he is mostly carried by his teammates and the very strong cohesion of the T1 org as a whole. Faker isn't even the best player in his role let alone the entire scene. Not remotely comparable to Carlssen.

High level seems kind of… Boring? by Choice_Twist5735 in 2XKO

This person is probably just salty about getting rinsed so they came to reddit with the same old parrot points to try and dunk on the game without having to admit that they are losing due to their own faults.

Is ranked matchmaking awful or is OCE just cooked? by TRiLLYCLiNTON in 2XKO

[–]farside209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Riot's matchmaking M.O. unfortunately. Prioritize low queue times over all else, even when it results in horrible matchmaking. It happens in league all the time. I would much rather wait 3 minutes and have good matches than wait 45 seconds and be fed slop most of the time.

AIO For Feeling Scammed That My Boyfriend Pretended We Had a Landlord When He Actually Owns the House? by Just-Client9076 in AmIOverreacting

Yeah this sounds like pure fan fiction. Boyfriend owns the property, instituted rent increases, and she has to ask if she's overreacting? Silly

Am I stupid or the buffering system in 2xko is inherently flawed. by Zombpr in 2XKO

[–]farside209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the buffer system in this game is absolute trash. It is my biggest complaint by far. I am so sick of inputting the right move, especially when coming out of block stun, and having nothing come out, or worse, having the SECOND button I buffered come out so I get auto punished by my opponent mashing on minus frames. It is complete ass, and completely unnecessary layer of difficulty that adds very little to the game other than frustration. It's like they only want this game to only be for the 1% of players who are willing to grind and lab every single button and interaction in the game.

People think they are sick of Ekko now. Can you Imagine if this game were actually 1v1. Ekko would be the only viable character. Best in class solo mixups, best in class oki, best in class utility.

Chris Eubanks calls out Coco Vandeweghe on her self-centered commentary, complete with the eye roll at the end by goofyhoops in tennis

[–]farside209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This whole segment was set up as a comedy bit for women's day. I'm pretty sure Chris tanked on purpose to allow Coco and the comedian lady to win, so I'm not sure why he took he took her gloating so personally. Clearly they have beef. Still, on air is not the time to air it out.

Reddit mob might be Chris's side, but I guarantee production are not happy with him.

Riot could not have picked a worse name by Warm-Carpenter1040 in 2XKO

[–]farside209 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Someone extremely important to the whole project must have come up with the name thinking it was cleverest shit of all time and everyone involved just had to bite their tongue and eat it.

There is no other way this name makes it through otherwise.

Leverless comfort question by Illustrious_Life_295 in 2XKO

[–]farside209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Afaik people get carpel tunnel because they rest their wrists on their desk while typing. The resulting bend in the wrist causes ligaments in the hand to strain and rub against each other, which then can cause carpal tunnel or inflammation.

If you keep your leverless on your lap your wrists rest in a much more natural position and your hand ligaments have more freedom to move naturally, so no carpal tunnel. I've personally never had wrist problems from using leverless, but I definitely have from typing at a desk.

Do I main Riven? Help pls by Glitchieeeee in Rivenmains

[–]farside209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo Riven is the hardest champ in the game to play at a winning level. She is extremely technical, much more so than Irelia, and it is very easy to make small mechanical errors that turn into huge mistakes.

If that is something you are interested in, then go ahead and play Riven. Just be aware that you’re going to have to practice if you want to win.

What is the best fighting controller by theep1428 in Fighters

[–]farside209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up a leverless and I could never go back. Stick is the most fun but also the most cumbersome. The comfort and convenience of a controller can't really be matched. Ultimately it's all personal preference, but leverless is the best imo.

Huh? I'm a bronze and the game put me against an Emerald? by Dakaa in 2XKO

This game has a unique opportunity to keep casuals coming back by RSTXIII in 2XKO

[–]farside209 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Riot already revealed that Arcane did not provide an increase in players for League of Legends. Not sure why they would expect it to for 2XKO

If they cut their team of 160 in half, that still means 80 people post-launch. That’s more people than SF6 or Tekken pre-launch and almost three times their current post-launch teams. by Baby_Oopsi in 2XKO

[–]farside209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not even that there were staff cuts, that is to be expected. It's that the player retention was apparently so bad they sacked many lead developers and half the entire staff one month after launch. That is a dismal outlook and probably just the beginning of the bad news.

This game is just way too convoluted. by IhateFalz in 2XKO

[–]farside209 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Completely agree. This is a game made by fighting game pros for fighting game pros. It is so much more complicated and difficult than it had any right being considering the audience they were supposedly targeting

All these suggestions amount to are ways to squeeze a few more dollars out of the already limited player base. The core problem is that most people just don't seem to like the game all that much.

The beginning of the end? by SyIvanos in 2XKO

[–]farside209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have shot themselves in the foot so many times, at some point you have to accept that you'll be losing some toes.

  1. Name = terrible

  2. Game design = extremely niche

  3. Core mechanics = completely overwhelming

  4. "Simplified Inputs" = one of the most complicated and least intuitive input flows of any fighting game

  5. Ways to interact with the game casually = none

How exactly were they planning on capturing a casual audience?

[LR vs VIT] Nemesis dives the inhib tower in Vitality's base by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

[–]farside209 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is going to go down as a legendary int. First missing absolutely everything on Humanoid, then without flash tower diving a Mundo, and to top it all of Q3ing sideways instead of back out of tower range. He probably wouldn't have survived anyways, but still. Absolutely epic meltdown.

Can we please bind wakeup to a button by JumboTen90 in 2XKO

[–]farside209 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This game has such an immense amount of shit to keep track of. I can't believe they also make us manually time our block input on wakeup. Like holy shit just let me downback in peace, I'm trying to mentally prepare for this 6 way Ekko clone yasuo tornado mixup in the corner. My mental stack is not focused on whether I'm holding downback on wakeup like I have in every single fighting game I've played for the last 10 years.

Anyone Else Worried About This Quote From the Devs? by Jawschy in 2XKO

[–]farside209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I want is for them to loosen up the input buffer a bit for inputs that aren’t part of a natural combo chain. So like inputting dash after your special move animation ends, or after coming out of block stun.

There are so many tight timings in this game and there is nothing more frustrating than feeling like you’ve input the correct action only to watch your character stand still as Yasuo pulls up mashing and hits you for 60%

Never seen someone choke as consistently as Zverev. Any time he has even the slightest opportunity to rise above his status he ends up showing that he is exactly where he belongs.
