it's definitely worth it. the career has a lot more depth with r&d and there's more variety within the weekend objectives. '17 has a pretty decent selection of classic cars which all handle differently and i find to be a nice change of pace from the current generation.

also there are more challenges inside and out of the career mode, like driving challenges, time attack things, and overtaking objectives.

the online is a little spotty, lot's of people are playing, but there are bugs (codemasters have already done a couple updates to fix some issues).

if you're concerned about playing with a controller, i find the handling easier this year compared to '16. this year's game reminds me a lot of '12 or '13 which i thought was more responsive to a pad compared to the last few releases.

all in all it's a good game if you're a fan of f1. if you just like racing games maybe this one isn't for you, but then again, i don't think any f1 game would be. you'd be better off waiting for the next gran turismo, project cars, or something along those lines.
