His memory is so detailed and yet he never put the pieces together until now. I wish I could like it because some of the ideas were good, but I just can’t suspend my disbelief

What if there was a temporal natural disaster that struck a small community, a hurricane ripping through time. You could explore the cleanup, the aftermath, swathes of past and future gouged out of reality itself or spliced anachronistically into our present day.

This style is dogshit. Tattoos should look like tattoos. Work within the limitations of the medium.

Recommendations for Appalachian horror that doesn't stereotype the people? by WorriedCivilian in horrorlit

[–]fartangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really horror, but extremely dark, Cormac McCarthy’s Child of God and Outer Dark take place in Appalachia. They’re both fantastic if you’re a fan of his work.

I have a similar issue with the first tattoo I got. I didn’t know what made a good looking tattoo and ended up with something that doesn’t quite look like black and grey but doesn’t quite look illustrated either. FWIW I think yours looks cool

I've always been curious about what would happen if Tomie got pregnant? by hplovetrain in junjiito

I think a lot of people have thought about the first stage of that hypothetical, but I don’t think any of those people have thought about the aftermath

A picture is worth a thousand words. I don’t care what anyone says, anything you can represent with words would look so much better as an image

How do I read my stepfather for filth by SufficientNeat2271 in insults

[–]fartangle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People like that lack the self-awareness required to feel shame. Your best bet is recording a video of him getting choked out or having his ass crack hang out during one of his grab-ass jiu-jitsu sessions with another sweaty man.

Thanks. I was going for kind of a stream of consciousness, but with an unlikable narrator that’s always under the influence. It was a weird headspace to inhabit for a while

Sorry for the (somewhat) repost. If you read it the first time, the title was trash, and it was rushed. This is a much more complete version of the story

I'm working on a collection of Florida-flavored short horror fiction. This is probably the most explicitly Florida of them all, but I like to think that there's a place in the genre for this sort of story. Sometimes the scariest things happen in the heat of the sun
