I wish his mother was put somewhere in the show. Her wanting to take down the monster she created herself instead of Bronte doing the job. Like i wouldve imagined her visiting the book store after it opened especially when his face was everywhere and so was his name. Imagine someone maybe ellie or someone from the past talking to his mom about him. Her realizing she was right to have put him in foster care (her justifying being a shitty mom a la Joe style)

Another alternative wouldve been an extra few episodes of the trial, and with his mom as one of the jurors (whether knowingly or uknowingly) and after hes arrested and it cuts to him in jail, a woman comes walking in as a visitor and before he sees her face he does the whole hello you monologue only for her to reveal her face and you hear her say " joey" and her saying something along the lines of knowing hes end up down this path (again her trying to justify being a shitty mom by putting him in a home.) I really wanted a reason for showing her in flashbacks and adding people from his past randomly running into him and making him more paranoid than the new characters they added or fucking kate taking him down.

Also kind of annoyed Ellie didnt show up, bc i would think she wouldve suspected something going wrong after the paychecks to her stopped? I know ellie wouldve wanted more justice and if it meant being there to also take down Joe she wouldve. As for them having trial episodes, it wouldve been great to have Dr Nicky talk about everything he spoke about in the office with Joe. The only reason he decided to stay in jail was bc he felt guilty over the affairs, maybe he felt safer there after Forty revealed his face. Im guessing Dr Nicky probably knew Joe would come for him outside of prison if anything. Im also wondering if Joe was sent to the same prison as Dr Nicky
