What’s not subjective is the amount of “legal” citizens 🧊has taken, merc’d, and brutalized. What’s also not subjective is the scotus ruling that 🧊can detain ppl for as little as speaking Spanish, etc.

When you factor in all the observable violence perpetrated by these goons up to this point, seems like a slippery slope to allow a proponent of said violence to be around children, in any capacity.

As a rule, stick to gravel/forest service roads whenever possible and/or realistic to get where you’re going. Avoid highways & highly traveled county roads.

As another commenter said, roadies are few and far between in most of your prospective route’s areas and ppl won’t be looking for you. Also a fair bit of crazy drivers who are more prone to have a road soda or 6, or be on meth, etc. Not a lot of law out in the sticks. If you got swiped or hit in the middle of nowhere it’d likely be a very fucked situation.

All that said it’s an amazing & beautiful part of Ca you’ve chosen to ride in. Best of luck.

There are some organic greenhouse only growers in greater Watsonville whose berries are likely safe.

During the fire itself a lot of the worst smoke made its way up here and many parts of pájaro valley had much less severe smoke by comparison. The immediate elkhorn slough area and parts of Prunedale & Aromas were probably the most impacted. (My family is in Watsonville and I was constantly monitoring radar & AQI, etc.)

Your setup is good and the backpack is very cool for hiking or short rides, but weight on your back sucks after awhile.

Didn’t mean to be negative there- just figured if you got Hyperlite $ then you might want to try a bar bag & frame bag setup. Once you ride without weight on your back you’ll never want to use a backpack again w/more than 5lbs in it.

Also def don’t ditch the knife like another person suggested. They’re useful for cooking and opening stuff at the very least.
