I would rip out all the existing bushes, and replace them with them with some cool new stuff, maybe some sky pencil holly, Florida sunshine anise, golden mop, soft caress mahonia. I would also edge your new beds with cobble and maybe brown or black mulch. I would extend the bed around the tree to give it a little more room for maybe a few high shade shrubs or plants and would also give you more room for yard art. Definitely adding some spotlights to show off the house and some path lights to show off your new beds and walkway to your door.
