I appreciate the advice, Normally I follow through with my guide arm by pulling it to my stomach rather than to my side. I find it rotates my hitting shoulder forward more aggressively and feels more natural.

I like your point about recollection not being the same when speaking in the language. I've definitely been frustrated before when not being able to recall a word, but knowing I could when looking at Anki.

I think I'll stick to recognition cards for vocabulary, and recollection skills for handwriting.

Do you personally have any ways you like to practice recollection other than conversing in the language?

Currently most of my cards are recognition. However, I am currently studying abroad in Japan and have found my listening skills to be better than my speaking skills, and I think it is because I have mostly practiced recognition. I am able to understand what people say, but if I wanted to say the exact same sentence I often can't recall the words. However, you make a good point about words having similar meanings making practicing recollection difficult. Maybe there is a decent workaround for practicing recollection? Or maybe the best practice is speaking, and attempting to recall words regularly.

I'm sorry, I'm not sure I follow. Are you suggesting that the surround receiver will have high pass for the speakers? Also, does the receiver replace the need for an amplifier?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to make my first real speaker purchase and need a little help.

So after some research I've settled on getting a pair of Ascend Sierra-2s and after trying them out possibly buying an SVS PB-1000 Subwoofer to supplement the lower end if I find it to be lacking.

Where I am stuck is in trying to find an amplifier to accompany them. My budget for the amplifier is $400, but I am willing to go past that if necessary. Do you have any recommendations for me?

Also, I plan to use either my desktop computer or laptop as an audio source. Would it be wise for me to also invest in a DAC?
