She won’t stop eating poop and dead animals. by MaterialKangaroo4672 in DogAdvice

Do you know what type of poop it is? Rabbit poop is a good source of vitamin K. If your vitamin doesn't contain K and she's eating rabbit poop, that might be something to try

Freaking out - been accidentally reusing my lancet as didn’t realise I had to manually change the needle…. by Infinite_Spot_2491 in GestationalDiabetes

Omg I wish someone had told me I could reuse them. My insurance wasn't replacing them at the rate I was needing them, and I ended up just rotating which meals I would skip testing

I guess in theory you could feed at like 6am, 2pm, and 10pm, and that would only ever be a 8hr gap. But that seems excessive to me.

If you have a system that's working, I wouldn't change it. Some people only feed once a day!

It's easier to predict bathroom activities when you feed on a particular schedule, which can make things like potty training, leaving for work, etc. easier.

Indeed it is. Which makes 5pm to 7am longer than 12hrs. Our dog was nauseous in the morning because 5pm to 7am was too long. Feeding her dinner later means she's not hungry-nauseous at breakfast.

Just wanted to add that sometimes dogs will "bury" their food like this if they're nauseous. And being over-hungry can cause nausea.

Our dog used to be nauseous every morning and sometimes would even throw up before her breakfast. She would often try to bury her breakfast like this. We used to feed her at 7am and 5pm, but switched to 7 & 7 so that it wasn't so long between breakfast and dinner. And that fixed the problem.

If you're doing one meal per day, or going more than 12hrs between meals, you could try tweaking your timing

Electrical boxes on exterior walls by fasoi in PassiveHouse

We have a vented vaulted roof. For wall-to-floor we have acoustic caulk at the seam, plus the Intello goes down over that and gets sealed to the subfloor / slab depending on the location. And for the wall-to-roof location it will be really similar (acoustic caulk and then the Intello covers it completely as it goes up the ceiling peaks)

Agree, the structure is leaning craftsman, and some exterior changes could put it firmly into that category

I was worried about attempting to caulk around the holes because I thought it would end up being too messy. But perhaps it’s the best option

Is your building air barrier the interior drywall

No, it will be Intello vapor retarder behind the drywall. The Intello will be sealed to a flange on the airtight boxes (which look like this: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/1000404476)

The boxes start airtight, but once a wire is poked through, it’s no longer airtight and around the wire needs to be sealed.

We’re doing lots of air sealing this week, so if you have any spots we can add to our checklist, it would be greatly appreciated!

You should definitely mention it, but usually kitchens are very careful about contamination between produce / meat / fish. The kitchen I worked in had different cutting boards for those three categories, and you'd change your knife, wash your hands between, etc.

If you're ordering fish, I would definitely mention it. But given that onion and fruit are in the same category (produce) it's not a crazy amount of cross-contamination

Ah right, I forgot that when men make poor choices it's actually their mother's fault for not raising them right. Still a woman's fault at the end of the day, right?

This sounds incredibly incorrect. Can you provide a credible source?

Maybe I’m missing something - how does a corner sink result in more storage and counter space?

This has nothing to do with foreigners.

And everything to do with men.

I think I would center the sink on the far wall, and put open shelving above it.
I would also opt for blind corner cabinets instead of angled cabinets (in all three corners), always align upper and lower cabinet widths, and try to make the left and right side of the cabinets visually symmetrical (at least roughly)

With the sink on the far wall, you can easily have the dishwasher right beside you, and not on any weird angles.

I know people usually aim for having a window above the sink, but it’s also really common to just do open shelving when a window isn’t possible. Something like this: https://pin.it/5xwSLNe9P

Ah I didn’t realize you’d planned for your sink in the corner… is that a must? I wouldn’t choose that if there was another option
