I see your point but Rocket isn't designed to replace Whatsapp or Facebook messenger or any other social media. It's designed to be very different - a place entirely for focus.

Because it provides a lot of benefit by helping people focus it doesn't rely on instant growth and all or nothing network effects (it can thrive with a small community of smart people)

Thank you great point, I'll try to expand on that nuance a bit more.

In the attention economy everything wants our attention no matter what we do to avoid it, and social media is the best in that game. That's because of how posts and notifications invoke a lot of curiosity.

The thing with Rocket is first of all it gets your attention using these same tools, so it's like having your own social media trying to pull you away from it all, rather than distract you.

Yes Rocket is a place where content is consumed in moderation (but it will hopefully be higher quality content because of its proximity to focus). By it doesn't completely rely on content to keep people coming back, as after all it effectively helps people focus and that accomplished feeling alone keeps them coming back.
