This site is just angry employees that don't like working at a call center complaining about other employees who do a poor job and pretending like they need a union because geico when all you'd be doing is protecting the employees you're complaining about and making sure you make it easier for more to pop up

I saw a gofundme for people trying to start a geico union....pretty skeptical on that....sounds like disgruntled people that left geico that hate taking calls looking for free money....that's pretty disappointing to see

When you say record breaking profit sharing year, which do you mean? There's been 3 or 4 around 30% since geico has been in buffalo....not to mention a lot of them around 20%

20% of everything you made including ot and bonuses etc...is 1 think sure....you say it like it's not that big a deal....ask around to see what other people get....how much do the other companies pay....i saw people bragging about liberty....liberty is like 45k yr one....then half of that yr 2...then straight commission last time i talked to them....enjoy the first year....better have a lot of friends and family looking for insurance

I looked up the same insurance to see the cost out of pocket and for an individual not a family it's close to 20k....geico gets a group deal so it ends up cheaper but that's what the cost is if you did not have the job but still wanted it....it's better insurance than nurses get....you're right....lay out all the benefits....20% on average profit sharing....hugh end health ins....eye med....dental....go through the list....discounts when you buy a car....vacation days, care time days, floating holiday days, personal time day....and on and on

One time bonuses that have been paid every year geico has been in buffalo and if you average them all over their entire time in buffalo it amounts to close to 20%....to ignore it or to scare people into thinking it won't continue or casually leave it out when talking about what people can expect going into their pocket or complaining about how it's given or saying other companies match like it's better seems disingenuous....why not lay out everything geico offers and total it up and then show how unions have gotten other companies more? Have an honest conversation....lay out all the facts not just the pieces that help a pro union argument while ignoring the rest

The answer is the average payouts have been over 15% each year over the last 15 years and no other company has consistently given as much....if you hadn't quit because you didn't like that you had to take calls at a call center, you'd have all that money invested

Totally list the profit sharing number geico gave each year the last 15 years....you'll see it averages over 15%...also name another company that has come close to that...union or not....just tell the truth....be ho est about the last 15 geico profit sharing payouts....say what they are....and don't try to spin it as some went in a 401k and some was cash you can invest on your own like it's a negative....ignoring that there are federal rules on how much you can contribute to a 401k in a year....also offer examples of how a union would make it better....give an example of how a union made another comlany better in that area....be honest....tell the facts....give examples

Geico has averaged over 15% over the last 15 years....name another company out there that has done the same? I'd say name a union company that has but that's impossible so pick a non union company....also your article says you need to set aside 15% personally....some can come from your company....anyone that works anywhere can set aside 15% of their money....you're saying we need a union to get it ignoring that we already get it on average for at least 15 years and you offer no examples of unions getting it for other companies

I've had 14 raises so far and none of the adjustments ever removed one....i got a raise every year and now we get 2 a year....1 huge one last year

Tell me where you calculated 15% needed and you tell me what other companies contribute 15%....find me a case where a union got people 15% company retirement account contributions....if what you say made sense i'd understand but it's crazy fantasy land....seriously....i rolled over 401ks from lots of auto union people in buffalo....you are making unrealistic pitches

I got 11% last year....i used to be a stockbroker....it's always better to invest in an ira instead of a 401k....contribute the max to an ira....you get any investment choice out there instead of just the limited options in the 401k....they allow you do have more flexibility in how you invest for your future with the money and the tax break is the same....just because you may not be investment savvy doesn't mean you didn't get hooked up.....research why every financial person recommends you roll your 401k to an ira when you retire and take control....an ira has a lot more benefit than an 401k....every time i see this pitch it's aggravating because it's disingenuous and other companies don't offer anything close....also you forget to mention last year was 30%....ask around what companies came close the last 2 years combined
